Say about the draft...from the 5th player on down you are drafting relatively the same player....It's a tricky draft....

- very tricky draft- pick 5 and down- relatively same player; who is impact player with 5 on down? doesnt always need to take BPA...may draft for need. thinks alot of teams will draft based on need. alot of surprises differing on mock draft and GM draft ball

- biggest need- like our team- player drafted wont get PT- solid at every every position

- pf position - struggled lasr year- lee and frye better at this position

- shooter in draft - no midge range game - 3 ball more common nowdays...last 8 years in NBA, 3-ball more common and no shooter in draft like an Allan Houston

- KOBE: bulls and knicks- not allowed to comment on players under contract; great respect for Dr. Buss and Kupchack...always try to make Knicks better- keep eye on the situation

- NBA finals- LeBron acheivement of getting team to Finals- say what you want about LBJ but he got his team to the Finals; SA- equivalent to 49ers- NBA equivalent to football 49ers - precision on offense- joy and pleasure to watch that- the level that SA played at

- Knicks departing- collective message - at end of season- we're closer than you think, be inspired, motivated, get in best possible physical condition....with Cleveland in Finals, team is alot closer than people realize; defensive deficiencies are correctable

Yeah, this team is stacked at every position.

The Knicks are stacked with starter level talent. Up and down the roster, most of our players could probably merit 30+mpg on half the teams in the NBA (probably the bottom half... but still).

Our biggest issue don't have All-NBA or All-star talent at any position except perhaps center.

Another way to look at it is that we literally don't have any legit two-way players. Most of our players are significantly biased toward offense or defense; we certainly don't have any players who are above average at both ends.

We need to package some of these players for more complete players. We may downgrade in overall talent, but maybe we can package an outstanding defender (Balkman) and an outstanding offensive player (Frye) to get someone a little more even kilter - like a Richard Jefferson or Shawn Marion or something like that.

He revised his statement. Last time he said 3 to 19 would be the same player. Someone must have reminded him that we were picking 23.

The only thing guaranteed is that Isiah won't be revising it to 10 on down.

Personally I think the draft is about 10-12 deep.

Isiah--have you given Wilson Chandler a promise @ 23? Hmmm Steve most players are of the same caliber from 5 down.

Mark it down, whoever Isiah picks, he'll say that he would have picked him with a pick in the 3-9th range.

Well Channing frye bhasnt bturned into Tim Duncan yet--IT has done well in the draft--but I think he's a bit ****y about it and still hasnt put a chemsitry-balanced team together. He basically said no one in the draft could shoot the ball--which gives him an out with guys like almond young and williams although chandler has averagd 27% from the college 3 in his two years 62% from the FL and 43% from the floor on pretty bad teams.

Don't be suprised if zeke trades the pick or drafts a veteran euro player
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
