McRoberts Signs With Agent, Will Stay In Draft

Josh McRoberts has signed with an agent and is staying in the NBA draft.

Bob Myers, an agent with the Wasserman Media Group in Los Angeles, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he is representing the 6-foot-10 power forward who has worked out for three teams in the past week in preparation for the June 28 draft.

looks like he got a promise. detroit? nj? ny?

Ferry? No. He is white & went to Duke. The comparison stops there. McRoberts is a hard nosed guy who is an athletic, tough player (albeit not a scorer). He's somewhat similar to David Lee at this point in his career. Excellent ball handler, good passer, good finisher/rebounder. Poor shooter. Make no mistake...he's better than Morris, Frye. I would deal Frye to NJ in a minute for their # 1. Walk out of the draft with McRoberts (or Sean Williams) and then Bellini (or Almond).

Again...no. You guys can't get past the skin color. He is anything but Matt Bonner. Bonner is a pure shooter. Bonner is Dan Ferry or Pat Garrity. If you feel compelled to compare him to a white guy, try David Lee.

-Good athlete, finisher, ball handler, passer, ambidexterous. Good rebounder (not as goood as Lee).
-Weak shooter, poor form.
-At best, average defender.

Trading Frye to nj sounds like fun. Kidd and eventually Williams passing to Frye would probably put Frye on the basketball map. I don't give a **** though. I wouldn't mind taking their first rounder for Frye. I don't care for mcroberts but he is better that Frye at least to me.

Can only compare white guys to other white guys. No cross comparisons!

McRoberts is a finese player whose skill set is better suited for the pro game in transition than deliborate college game. This kid can play and was a top 5 pick if he came out after highschool.

Likely not an impact player out of the gate for he needs bulking up. Frye is four years older than this kid.

David Lee white comps are hard. David is really a black kid.

It just kinda goes that way with the white comparisons. I chose to use Danny ferry cuz he was supposed to be great coming out of college. He is a dukey too.

The draft sites compare him to Chris webber. No way in hell.

He is close to odom just not as good of a ball handler nor is he as fast. Maybe close to vilenueva just not as good of a scorer. John Wallace? Not many black players with his size and skill. The thing with mcroberts is he isn't fast, explosive, or strong. He does have more of a pro game. He will get his share of dunks, but he doesn't have David lees motor. David is relentless. Mcroberts isn't that type of player.

How would you compare him to former #1 and fellow caucasian Andrew Bogut?

He's really not a lot like Bogut. Bogut a more polished scorer, bigger body & a true 5. McRoberts a better athlete, but limited moves, shooting ability right now.

Good point re: him not having Lee's motor. That's true, but their skills sets are similar.
