Lets say we suck next year........

Do we get our own pick? Or was it traded some how some way

What are some good players coming out next year?

in 2008, its top 23 & in 2009, its top 22

At least Zeke used to use protection.

regardless of what's there in the draft- we should just through the young guys out there- Lee, Frye, Balkman & this year's pick, Collins, Curry and Crawford- and see what we can do.

If we only win 23 games, but these guys either grow or are exposed, then that's great- & we finally get a lotto pick. Same strategy for 2009.

But, if we try to win an 8 seed, maybe we do that & repeat in 2009- then, in 2010, its another lotto pick we're giving up.


A few folks have brought up the notion of giving up our pick this year to fulfill that 2010 obligation. I don't know whether its doable or not- But, I would certainly call Utah & see if they'd be interested.

It means we have our pick in 2008 as long as it falls in the top 23. If we're 24 or greater the Jazz or the Suns or whomever owns the pick gets in. If the Jazz or Suns didn't get our pick in 2009, we will get it if we're in the top 22, if 23 or greater the Jazz or Suns get it.

If the Jazz or Suns still haven't gotten our pick, they get it regardless in 2010.

It means if the pick is number 23 or lower in 2008 -- we keep it (i.e. if it's number 23 we keep it -- if it's number 24 we give it up to the Utah). If the pick is 22 or lower in 2009 -- we keep it (i.e. if it's number 22 we keep it -- if it's number 23 or higher it goes to Utah). And by 2010, if we have not given a first rounder to Utah, then we have to give them our pick and it is unprotected.

No- I think we want to tank the next two years and try to stock pile some talent and youth and then try to win from 2010 onward.
