Pierce is still a top NBA talent. So why the hell is danny holding onto him if he is not gonna build around him?!?!

The celtics belong to their youth now. Al jefferson, Rondo, green, that other dude from providence, etc. They have a nice foundation of youth.

Sure you stick a healthy pierce in that team and they can probably make the playoffs, but barely. The celtics can probably get a high pick or a couple of picks for pierce and a player they could use right away.

Danny is smoking the same **** that mchale is smoking.

I just don't get this milk em till they are dry mentality. It was sad to see it happen to Mitch richman. This **** has got to stop.

he gave pierce a 3 year extension last season (which kicks in AFTER the 07/08 season).

and it's the same question as why don't we just dump marbury already?

if you really look at it, boston and us are in similar situations in terms of roster.

pierce = marbury
wally = crawford
jefferson = curry
west, green, rondo, west, gomes = mardy, nate, lee, frye

in reality, they are a better team b/c they didn't have pierce + wally for a huge stretch of the season leaving the team in the hands of their kids. (plus they were trying to tank while we were trying to make the playoffs)

but they will be under the cap (big time) after next season and they have the #5 pick so they might be in a better position if ainge makes the right choices.

I agree except for a few things. Pierce should have more value around the league than Marbury. I also think, overall, Boston's youth is better than ours. Then add the #5 into that, and they'll be in good shape, as you said.

Trading Pierce makes a lot of sense, but you better get some great youth in return.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

What about tayshawn prince and the picks for pierce? Prince brought the defense buy pierce is not a bad defender himself. Pierce can neutralize a dude like lebron shot for shot while the rest of the pistons do their thing.

As far as marbs getting dumped? Hell yeah! What is taking that so long? Oh yeah, there is two of them, the second one being Francis. Oy!

I don't know if anyone noticed but the NBA is a business, first and foremost. So therefore the Boston Celtics have to continue to sell tickets or whatever else, and Paul Pierce is just the man for the job.

Enyspree, you are here talking about the Cs trading Pierece but Ainge is in the process of acquiring Marion from Phoenix. Obviously, without the injuries the Celts would have been at the top of the division.

They aint rebuilding dawg

Also Jefferson and Curry are NOT equal. Jefferson is a versatile two way big man. Curry is a lazy blob. I'd say Pierce and Wally are a lot better than Marbury and Crawford. And let's not forget they have the 5th pick while we have the 23rd.

They are going to add Marion and develop a Phoniex offense with Rando at point. They might be a REAL problem next yr

If they are healthy I can see it happening but I just don't see that pheonix/Boston trade going down. If it does than the knicks need to do something or the improving east will swallow them.
