I hijacked this question from a different Knick forum (big-ups to bodiddly)...

Name the only 2 Knicks since Ewing to be drafted by the team and average 10 ppg in their careers?

I'm gonna guess Rod Strickland and Nene

Uhm. Oddly phrased question - at any point in their careers? In their careers while members of the Knicks... or for their entire careers?

Going by entire career - there are actually 3, from what I gather:
Channing Frye (in two years, has averaged 10.8ppg)
Rod Strickland
Gerald Wilkins - he was most definitely drafted AFTER Ewing (in the 2nd round of the same draft class)

By individual seasons:
Mark Jackson
John Wallace
Greg Anthony
David Lee
Kenny Walker
Nate Robinson

Nene is averaging 11 for his career and was drafted by the Knicks.

Hehe. He was drafted then traded... so Nene was officially drafted by the Knicks. The pick wasn't traded prior to the draft. Meh.

Frye & Strickland is it. I see the Nene point, but I guess since he was traded so quickly he wasn't counted.

Goes to show how godawful the Knicks had been at drafting for almost two decades.

You beat me to it. Wilkins for sure average more than 10ppg. He was the Knicks second leading scorer after Ewing until Starks emergence. Strickland didn't average over 10ppg. Remember when he was stuck on the bench under Stu Jackson.

Well, I don't know if says the Knicks are bad at drafting players. Given that the Knicks have gone to the playoffs maybe 75% of the years since drafting Ewing, we haven't had too many opportunities for high picks. We weren't in a mode to develop talent.

Instead, a lot of our picks were used as assets in trades. It'd be interesting to see what the Knicks' actual 1st round pick positions would have gotten us.
