I think Splitter's been a prospect for the draft for as long as Jerome James has been eating cheeseburgers, but apparently this year his buyout is only $500,000. This makes him a pretty interesting prospect. A lot of the guys from Brazil have done very well recently (Nene, Varejao, Barbosa), and he's been as highly touted or more highly touted than any of those guys. Plus he's apparently a physical, defense/rebounding oriented prospect. This articles says Isiah has some interest:

"The guy we pick at 23, I'd be surprised if he cracked the playing rotation next year," Thomas added.
Great, we're gonna have to watch Francis or Jeffries or Rose play ahead of a player who's supposed to be part of our core.
Thomas does not seem heartbroken at giving away the No. 9 pick. "It's definitely going to be a very difficult draft," he said. "Anywhere from 3 to 19 you may get the same kind of player."
We're picking 23. Does Isiah think that 23 falls between 3 and 19?!

He wants to trade a player on this team and using suspicious language concerning the pick, that will engage teams/gm's to call him about the pick, which will lead into other conversation.

Such as if Detroit were to call about the Pick, I SAY UGH could try to consummate a trade such as Francis, Morris, & 23 for Rasheed and 27th pick.

Isiah is good a blowing steam. He says 3-20. Ok 3 spots later the knicks pick. If isiah keeps the pick cuz he can't make a trade he will say he is excited this player "fell" to 23.

All we can do is chill and see what this mofo does.

I'd like to see us develop him, but agree that he won't last to our pick.
I'd rather have Sean Williams, bud and all.

Sean Williams work ethic/addicitions scream out a flaky guy player like Keon Clark or Chris Andersen. Both those guys teased with their athletic ability and shotblocking on the NBA level, but where the heck are they right now?

As far as the Cannibus use, I wouldn't worry much (as allot of the nba uses it). As far as work ethic, that is a tough one. Lots of players are not "practice players" but prefer to do it in pick up games and on the court. Is that a pretty well known thing about Williams? His stats are phenomenal, so I wouldn't hinge too much on the work ethic. But, Isiah and Co. will know once they have interviews. Seeing a person in place tells alot about them.

On the other hand Channing Frye tries hard but where has it gotten him. Some of these players can just flat out play, but I'm not trying to minimize what you are saying. Yes, it is a concern. But how much?

When Chris Anderson applies for reinstatement, is he a free agent?

Good find. I'm not really interested in Splitter at this point, but if he goes before our pick, the Knicks' options are a little better.
