Sternspeak...'superstars' = 'marketing'

Of course it is, and if NYK had one, Stern would love that too. He's all about bottom line.

*although I'm still seething about Rod Thorn's 'staggered suspensions' after the Miami brawl. Still pissed.

So Mr. Stern! Help us out and get a ping pong ball in a real city, where your profit margin is guaranteed!

One has to wonder why Yao Ming would end up in Houston. I guss they do have a market over there - but if Lebron ends up in a place like Denver or the Cavs then his marketability will take a hit. Not because he isnt great, but because those arent real basketball towns in my opinion. NYK is where he would have the world as his stage and I see no reason why Stern wouldn't want that to happen. But the ping pong ball (notice I say ball because thats about all we will have floting in the tank) has to fall our way.

Cleveland's a great basketball town. And with Bron being a hometown star, the Gund arena would be jammin'.

Compared to NYK Cleveland sucks.

HOUSTON = 4th largest NBA Market and City. Before Yao, it was DEAD LAST in attendance and revenues. Even Charlotte Hornets last year had more fans and was more profitable.
