Look, no way you contend in this league with a young core. Not unless you have a legit big star.

And by contend I mean be a consistent playoff team.

We're not even a playoff team yet, so forget about even consistent.

We don't have a big star, not now, and we're not gettin one through a trade so scrap that idea. I mean who wants to help the Knicks? Teams'll highball the Pacers and Grizz and Wolves just to keep em out of the big apple.

Don't believe me -- it's already happened right under your nose.

Best thing to do is just let our players grow up, shed salary making small trades, take a risk on cheap talent with potential, keep draft picks, and if you're gonna make a splash, buy low, sell high.

END OF STORY.

Sorry...it's true.

Isiah's trying to do something that's impossible, and once all that mirage of bigtime trades and picking late 1st round gems is gone, he's gonna get canned. Just watch.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
