I keep looking at those stats --double double with 60% shooting in only 29 minutes also a top notch passer for his size

but is his leg OK?

I hope his broken leg/microfracture/tendon situation doesn't mean the end of his effectiveness. Heck, let's hope we don't have a Channing Frye situation where his confidence is permanently affected.

Is there any kind of evidence to suggest the injury is something permanently damaging?

A little, but there's more proof that Balkman is white. That's a lot more obvious.

Towards the end of last season, I can't find the article, but I read where Lee stressed that he was recovered and looked forward to playing in that particular game. But for some reason, only Isiah Thomas knows, he DNP, according to the reporter, a visible upset D-Lee.

he came back a couple times and was ineffective- he was probably still hurting.

I would hope it was a freak thing and he'll be better.

still- guys that play high energy effort b ball tend to get banged and nicked.

You mean other than his leg amputation?

...amputation...

I'm willing to bet, right here, right now, that if they amputate David Lee's leg, he's not going to start next year. A mono-legged Lee is going to spend a lot of time on the bench, no matter how much "gut" that kid's got in him. Balkman's going to get more minutes, Frye and Jefferies and going to get more time. Lee will still be better than James but not by much. And, you know, Lee can practice with crutches or a wheelchair but the league is going make him leave his crutches with James in game situations.

Just saying. Amputation isn't a good injury in basketball. If the Knicks had looked closely at Weiss's medical records and figured out he only had one leg, there's no way they would have drafted him in the first round.

All valid points, NumberTwoPencil. It's definitely tough to dunk after amputation. But I have faith that David Lee can put up 30/20 despite this.

If he's lucky and his stump heals quickly, he might drop 20/10 or so but usually it take a guy with one leg a year or so to get his confidence and really be effective around the basket. And, there's always the danger of another amputation if he comes back too early. Two amputations and he's going to lose all of his time to James and end up the D league or get traded for peanuts to some team willing to take a chance on a guy with no legs.

David lee has that "villalago", I don't know how to spell it but its that micheal Jackson magical illness. Its still up in the air why David lee went from a black man to a white man and not a white woman like MJ.

lol, Briggs, if any of us even know, you really don't think we'd be posting it? We'll prolly know nothing until AT LEAST Summer leagues, and even then, if the upcoming juniors don't play, we wont know until the regular season.
