How many PF/C's can one team possibly have on the roster at one time? Curry. Lee, Frye, Morris-now talk about Sean Williams-How man big men are we going to get to try and cover Curry's weaknesses?

IT must be reading this board. The two top names he uses as subterfuge. He has already picked someone and will use the paper to name guys who other teams in front of him may reconsider taking because they think they may slip.

So in conclusion Morris Almond and Sean Williams will not be Knicks:)

Could be, but Almond and Williams make the most sense so I find it reasonable that there is talk about them. A athletic shot-blocking power forward who with lock down defensive skills in the paint and a sharp shooter from the outside. Something tells me that even Isiah gets it.

There are alot of guys that make sense. It really is going to come down to who IT thinks can really play in this league. The workouts will be key.

I was really hoping Isiah's trips to Europe weren't just to get away from Anucka Gate, but to evaluate talent.

What this team should try and do is find some euro talent that can really play and bring some toughness with skillz to the knicks.

Something like an older experienced player like Toronto did with Garojosa and Parker.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Talk of Isiah "leaking" draft names before auditions is premature. He has little idea right now who he is picking, and probably isn't in the position to rule anyone out right now, certainly not two guys with skills we lack. My guess is between now and the draft we are going to hear twelve more names in the papers because these are guys we invited to workouts.

Sean Williams fills our front-court needs better than anyone else in this draft, period. So of course we are going to give him a long look. I have a tough time imagining our taking another front-court guy, though, not unless we try to use Balman or Lee to get an earlier pick.

Which is not entirely out of the realm of possibility.

will anyone be surprised if he trades the pick? doesn't look like there's a spot on the roster for this pick to get any burn. in all honesty, mardy and balkman probably should've received ZERO burn last season too if it weren't for backcourt injuries, quentin's back, and the bust jeffries signing.

Exactly, Curry is so one dimensional that they need to sacrifice roster spots, draft picks and player's minutes to cover for his shortcomings on defense and rebounding.

If you're going to cater to someone like that, they'd better be dropping at least 25 a night and be an absolute go to guy at the end of games when scoring really matters. Not give the softest 19 points you'll ever see and completely disappear at crunch time.

Man, when are you guys going to give this pathetic nonsense a rest? Yeah, we drafted Frye and Lee to cover for Curry's weaknesses...before we even had him. Soft points? What does that even mean? And no, Eddy Curry did not disappear at crunch time last year.

The single-mindedness of some of these posts are truly amazing. Would be admirable if they weren’t the product of small-mindedness.

You want a 20ppg, 3bpg, 12 rpg center? So does every team in the league. Its why every b-ball fan in Portland is dancing a jig right now. But see, Basketball is a team sport, and on a well-designed team no one has to do everything.

If you don't like the idea of building a team around Eddy Curry in the middle, you've got a big problem because like it or not, that’s the plan. I hear the Nets are looking for fans.

Eddy needs to get to the point where he isn't a defensive liability, and he needs to be a more aggressive rebounder. These points aren't in dispute, but feel free to repeat them a thuosand more times here. But no matter how many times you say it, he isn't ever going to be a dominant force on D or on the boards, so putting a guy next to him who is makes sense for the team.

But let’s hate on Curry some more. Can't go wrong with that on the UK boards.

good post, and as happy as portland fans are, they will certainly need to keep zach randolph, because I have the feeling that oden will not be a 20ppg scorer in this league. Great and possibly dominant defender, yes. Very good scorer, I don't think so.... Again this is why guys like Duncan are so great, they can do it all, that makes him Elite, great, HOF player..

We really have no clue what Isiah is thinking, in terms of the draft or anything. We also can't base any conclusions b/c the Post or any other 'paper says what the Knicks want to do, without even saying there's a source.

With that said, it's highly possible that Isiah IS interested in Williams and Almond afterall, b/c if you remember from just exactly 2 years ago, there were tons of reports that Isiah made promises to Channing Frye and did backround checks on him and there were "Rumors" that he was interested in him. Channing got drafted by us, of course.

Also, yes, we had no clue Isiah was gonna take Balkman, Collins, Ariza and David Lee. I had a feeling he would have taken Nate though.

Can't read too much into these articles. I personally hope they are true and Isiah is really going for these 2 guys and trades for another pick so it can be done. If these picks can turn out to be good for us, and Curry can improve his work ethic, this can be a really really good team:

Curry/Jerome
Williams/David Lee
Q/Balkman
Almond/Nate
Crawford/Collins

This is assuming that we buy Francis out, Marbury retires when his contract runs out, Jefferies dissapears and Frye is traded, hopefully for picks.
