From Wikipedia:
In the summer of 2005, the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA (who drafted Scola in 2002) attempted to negotiate with TAU to buy out his contract, but TAU wanted over 3 million dollars for the contract, which made it impossible for Scola to join Argentina national teammate Manu Ginobili. When the deal to buy out Scola's contract fell through, the Spurs instead signed Argentine teammate and good friend Fabricio Oberto.
I thought it was more than that, but I can't blame the Spurs for this one.
Quite frankly, the baseball rules are retarted. The fact that the Japanese teams got something like $70 million between the two deals just to TALK to the players is insane and not right. The NBA does it the right way, IMHO.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
