After combing the league, I can't find one that would be available.

Any bright ideas? Keep in mind curry is most likely NOT gonna be traded for obvious reasons.

honestly, i'd comb more than the league... i bet we could draft a second rounder or find someone from the D League or CBA who could come in and play 10-15 minutes a night next to eddy or lee and send a shot or two into the stands. we don't need/can't get a starter who's a primetime shotblocker, but if i had a whole scouting staff to work with i'd get someone who could make a limited impact around our go-to frontcourt players.

Cato averaged 5 blks per48 last year and still never got PT.

Shot blocking is overrated.

With the rules structured for offensive players to have an advantage, along with the league moving towards '6,6-8" skilled players at every position to produce a faster paced game you know how difficult that's going to be.

We talked about camby on this board and nothing made sense. He would be the absolute perfect player to be next to curry especially since he can hit the long jumper now. George Karl basically burned that bridge by cursing isiah out in the media. So K-mart might be out of the question also.

Brenda Gaywood is a bum. He is too slow to start next to curry anyway. Even if he was just a rotation guy, he had a hard time outplaying etan Thomas and lost the respect of his coach. Not the type of player we need.

Philly is building around dalembert. They are not gonna give up on him yet. Steven hunter was a guy the knicks could have gotten but he proved to be a worthy starter during phillys success in the last few months of the season. Still maybe the knicks could go that route and try to get korver or carney along with hunter for some packedge containing frye.

I don't believe in shotblockers to tell you the truth. Its definately a positive to have maniac flying in out of no where to send a shot into the stands, but simply stopping the ball is all you really need. Guys just have to close off the lanes and understand what they are supposed to do when they rotate. Blockshots, steals and turnovers would come from everyone if the offensive player is forced into a funky shot because his lane was closed off. I'm down with combing the D-league or the many other American pro leagues around the country to find NBA calibur talent. A lot of old college stars still in their 20's are playing in plenty of obscure places in this country and around the world. Isiah has shown he isn't afraid to make those moves.

So now what?

Can someone post the D-league shotblocking leaders? That should be interesting.

Also if you can find stats from other American leagues that would be nice too.

Unless we make a trade, there's no PT for anyone that is just a shotblocking role player. I believe that the PF spot is eventually going to either be Morris or a big trade for JO or KG. Those are the only real options.

We have Frye, Lee, Jared, Morris and Rose. Lee deserves to play 30 mpg and after that, we have only a big "?" Frye isn't forceful enough and Jared doesn't do enough on the floor to warrant lots of mins. Rose is smart, but fading and small. That leaves Morris. He's not yet ready, but maybe we give him a shot anyway to learn on the job. Why not? I can already see that he has the strongest base of any of our PF's. He's probably as good or better than many of the other PF's in the draft.

I'd rather we give more PT to our better perimeter defenders. Mardy, Balkman and Q. With Steph improving his effort, that is a decent defensive core of perimeter players. If we add another guy with size and quickness, that could really help to sure up the D and make it possible to get a few more blocks from the bigs we already have. The key is to defend better on the perimeter. Relying on a shotblocker only covers up poor perimeter D.

That's only for 22 out of 50 games though. Still, that's fairly high. No way he's be close to that in the NBA.
