Thanks to a clutch basket and steal from Richard Jefferson. Though DinoBosh was doing his best Tim Duncan impression in the 4th and damn near singlehandedly won the game.

Nets/Cavs in Round 2. Sam Mitchell better get his extension like... tonight.

damn...tough tough loss last night. great game tho.

colangelo don't care so he'll make some moves this summer. he's probably not going to bring back mitchell either.

i remember telling marv this back in december that bargnani was going to be real good. and now, after watching him an entire season and how his demeanor has changed, i'm going out on a limb here but he's going to be better than dirk. the guy is a stone cold assassin.

I thought Mitchell showed a lot this year. Why change the Coach? To me I think it's a mistake to think they should be the Suns of the East. That team isn't made that way. Perhaps he's going to try and make further changes, but IF you have Parker, Bargnani and Garbo out there it's more of a halfcourt team IMO.

One announcer described the Raps as "light in the cakes". I would tend to agree. They are a finesse team and bigger more physical teams will always give them a hard time in the playoffs. A team with Big guards like the Nets is a bad matchup. TJ can get by anyone without help, but on the other end he can be abused.

Bosh finally showed up in the last game, but it bothered me how out of it he was mentally. For their sakes, they have to hope this was a one time poor showing. This is why you want to get your young players some playoff experience.

Not in the PLAYOFFS you don't! I was refering to how he's played in the postseason, not during the season.

mitchell was an inherited coach. he motivates the players well but all season long, his sub patterns and play calling have come into question. mitchell has done a good job (and he's also learning) but i think colangelo has a vision and he will not waiver from it. mitchell, imho, is not part of the vision. if mitchell is kept, that's fine also, but colangelo did do the stand up thing and gave mitchell this season when he could've fired him after last. and mitchell earned his keep and will get a multi-year head coaching contract from some team. it worked out for both parties.

colangelo is going international in toronto. now, will it lead to a championship? probably not. very few teams have won rings. but it's a plan and he's going to stick to it. so far, in step one, it got them 47 wins and a division title. and he has shown that he will trade anyone to make sure his plan works.

the franchise player is bosh (and maybe soon will be bargnani) so they'll only go as far as these two will take them. that's the way it works in the nba. you go and draft your franchise player and hope they will become "great" enough to win a title. in toronto's case, the future is in the hands of bosh and bargnani. in boston, it's in the hands of jefferson and whomever they draft this season. in our case, it's in the hands of curry.

and they are not the suns of the east. the suns have the mvp, freak athlete in marion and amare.

the raptors are the international team of the league. their whole offense is based on ball movement. not the pg dribbling and finding the open man. it's based on the extra pass.

I actually felt that the one thing that gave them any advantage this year was the Guard penetration. If not for TJ's ability to breakdown the D and set up open shots for their perimeter guys, I didn't really feel that all their passing was that beneficial. It's similar to the way the SUns play in that regard. It starts with Guard penetration because if they don't have that then there's no real advantage on the floor for them. This is the case when you don't have a dominant post player. If you don't then you'd better have someone who can breakdown a D and create open shots and passing lanes. Calderon is OK, but not nearly as elusive as TJ. To me they need to add some more athletes to the roster. Slasher/finishers. If not Teams will look to minimize what Bosh does and TJ will have to take a lot of shots. Its the same thing that teams did to Nash without Amare and before Barbosa fully arrived. They left him free to take all the shots and tried to stay at home on the other players. Now they have Barbosa playing at a higher level and they have Amare back, so their a much more potent team.

Right now TJ doesn't have a Barbosa or Marion. It will be interesting to see what Colangelo does from here on out. They have a nice base to that team tho.

I think Bosh was a non factor in 3 of the games and he had some rather quiet points at times too. I never felt his impact on the games, the way a teams star player should have. Since Bosh's points were needed I can't overlook that part of the game. In the last game he gave his team a chance to win, which is more of what i'd like to see from him or Curry for that matter. 10 rebs for Bosh is not that big a deal. They don't really get rebounding from anyone else on a regular basis. He did his job in that regard, but his team needed more from him to win the series.
