Al Harrington
6-9 PF from St. Patrick's (HS)
16.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.9 apg in 32.9 minutes
Stephen Jackson
6-8 SG from Oak Hill Academy (HS)
15.5 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.8 apg in 33.0 minutes
Incoming
Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
17.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.4 apg in 37.3 minutes
Jared Jeffries
6-11 SF from Indiana
4.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.2 apg in 23.8 minutes
Channing Frye
6-11 PF from Arizona
9.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 0.9 apg in 26.4 minutes

I am looking at what the warriors gave up and Frye is a better prospect than Ike was at the time, and crawford would have been a better fit than dunleavy and it would have give indy a much more balanced team.

Crawford
Daniels
Granger
JO
Frye

Marbury
Jackson
Harrington
Lee
Curry

The trade has been horrendous for Indy, and with them looking to rebuild, Crawford at the point would have been a huge upgrade. And they are looking to move JO so they would have had a more balance project

I am just stunned that Isiah wasn't more active on this one.

The Pacers wouldn't trade with us unless they were ripping us off. Don't forget Larry Bird is still employed over there.

I think it means everything, this is the east we are talking about here. You want space for Eddy Curry next year.

Marbury/Collins
Jackson/Nate
Q/Balkman
Harrington/Lee
Curry/Rose

Tough defense, versatility, penetration, and not to mention you still have a bench to work with. That team has championship level written all over it if eddy came back in shape. You could have included our first round pick this year to get the deal done.

the knicks' problem has been buying into players based on limited performances. or don't you remember jerome james?

i personally would look elsewhere than stephen jackson and al harrington for defense (!?!?) and leading us to a championship.

Jackson, Collins, Q, Balkman can all defend mutliple positions tell me who in the east has a better team than that had the trade gone through.

We would have beat the **** out of Cleveland, Orlando, Wizards and the Raptors.

I don't think the Heat would have beat us, nor would the Nets, but it would be closer.

And I think we would go two to two with the pistons and bulls.

Not sure how well advertised the trade was beforehand. I guess most people knew Jackson was on the block, but I don't think they necessarily wanted to get rid of Harrington. Could we have used Jackson? Sure, but IT was not giving up his prize in Crawford for a guy with a bad rep. Hindsight is 50-50 but I doubt Bird was going to let IT get harrington and jackson.
Trust the Process

but you're forgetting something major, it's a trade to ny...which means it will NOT work out.

sjax would come into town and shoot up a bodega for some beef jerky.

harrington would be arrested soliciting transexuals down by the west side highway...on 8th street...right around the corner from building 115...ring the 2nd floor buzzer...ask for ramon...

you're talking about those guys bringing us a championship. pardon me if i'm not blown away by those numbers (playing for lottery teams, yes?). and calling them tough defenders? i thought they both had reps as lazy defenders/offensive minded guys. you're coming in here after one series (thus the JJ reference) where one of them lit it up and both showed uncharacteristic defensive intensity hyping them up, and i'm not buying it.

I am saying losing Jefferies and Crawford is an upgrade. One we add the ability to space the floor and ensure that curry is rarely double teamed, we add size, because jeff and craw are weak.

If Isiah played Curry 30 minutes a night and really used him correctly and combinded Lee/Balkman together the team would be of the upper ecelon quality in the east, which is nothing special, however if you look at it, addition by substraction you don't have crawford going wild and if Q is healthy your team is tough as nails.

Three point Shooters: Q, Jackson, Harrinton on the floor a the same time to go with steph who can stroke it, i think you are missing the overal picture here.

no, i'm just resistant to the idea that bringing in MORE head cases was the solution to our problems. especially when their stature is inflated by very recent performance.

Well Jefferies is a soft player that can't handle pressure and you could make the case that crawford is another headcase by his play. Harrington never had any problems, Jax is a little crazy, but so is nate who would benefit from jackson smacking him around

i was proposing Frye for Harrington trades all through the offseason even after his good rookie season... the time to do it was then... Frye's value has dropped so much i don't see the Warriors even considering it unless we threw in Mardy into the deal, which isn't happening.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Harringtons stock aint soaring either....especially with Barnes taking his spot in the linenup.
"Man, who knows with this team." Aguirre.
