Theus Interviews With Bobcats

Reggie Theus could be a phone call away from returning to the NBA, this time as a coach.

Theus said Thursday night he was "flattered" to be on the
short list of candidates for the head coaching job of the Bobcats.

Charlotte GM Bernie Bickerstaff confirmed earlier Thursday that Theus was among five candidates the Bobcats have interviewed. The others are former Hornets and Cavaliers coach Paul Silas, former NBA player and assistant coach Mario Elie, longtime Grizzlies assistant Lionel Hollins and former Heat coach Stan Van Gundy.

I hope Paul Silas gets the job. I don't like the way he was bounced out of Cleveland.

They have a good group of candidates, except Theus who has no experience. I think Silas or Van Gundy would be good coaches for them. Elie also could be like a Avery Johnson or Sam Mitchel type of young former player turned coach who can relate to the players and bring in hard-nosed discipline.
