If Stephon Marbury is extended and there is no success to warrant it, like actually getting in to the playoffs, possibly having a winning record and such- NO SUCH EXTENSION WILL TAKE PLACE.
If Marbury was smart, he'd do what all of the other "has beens" do...take a lower salary and go to a team with championship aspirations.
Nix...amazing, you make it like some of our younger guys are the second-coming, yet you'd want Marbs to be extended and take their valuable playing time away. The future of this team is not Stephon Marbury, sorry.
Plus, I also think if Isiah is not successful next year- which means getting in to the playoffs, I think HE IS A GONER. Go get that box of kleenex Nix, because you'll be bidding a tearful adieu to your boi boi Zeke and his lackey Marbury. And get a clue, if you really love Zeke, you'd know...ISIAH IS THE LEADER OF THIS TEAM, not Marbury...he said it himself.
And sorry to rain on your parade some more...Mardy Collins will see burn next year but I highly doubt its as much as you think. Zeke wants to win and I am pretty sure Mardy-minutes will be no more than 10-12 per night.
What is it with some of you guys and the aggressive nature of your responses to my posts. What's with all the attacking. I didn't attack you, I merely gave my perspective.
I NEVER have held out any of our young players as the next coming and i'd LOVE for you to find an instance where I said anything like that. Mardy reminds me of Derek Harper and if he's lucky he'll reach that level. From what i've seen of him he looks like he's got a chance to be pretty good. Me liking our young players and their chances to develop is far different from saying that they're gonna be stars, which I certainly never did. I Grow tired of you and so many others around here putting words in my mouth. Let's just stick to the subject at hand.
Perhaps Mardy will only see 10-12 minutes a game, maybe he plays well and get's a few more. That's not our of line with what i'm saying in the least. My comments about Mardy one day playing more minutes than Steph are obviously pointing to the future when Steph is winding down, certainly not next season.
With regard to Isiah being successful next season, let's just wait and see what happens this summer.
