Knicks And Bulls Make Up Over A Supersized #3 Meal 24th April, 2007 - 10:02 pm
By Buster Gunning
The conflict is officially over. Chicago Bulls coach Scott Skiles has settled the grudge that resulted from a recent contest in which his team was accused of running up the score over a beaten New York Knicks team in order to win the fans a promotional McDonald's 'Big Mac.'
“I felt just terrible over that game,” said coach Skiles (referring to a 98-69 romp over the New York Knicks over a week back). “I wanted to do something for the guys to try to make amends, something meaningful. That is why I thought it would be appropriate to take the whole Knicks’ team out to enjoy a McDonald's value meal of their choice, supersizing optional.”
The Knicks seemed grateful about the gesture with many praising Skiles for his offer.
“I had a supersized double quarter pounder meal and still felt a little hungry.” explained Bulls’ center Eddy Curry. “I asked Coach Skiles if I could also get a 20-piece order of Chicken McNuggets and he said it was no problem at all. A true gentleman of the game!”
Guard Nate Robinson was cynical at first, some would even say surly. “I’m a Wendy’s guy myself. I also didn’t like the fact that he was taking us to the very restaurant that started this whole feud. My first instinct was to punch him (Skiles) but after I sank my teeth into that first Big Mac, I just sorta lost interest.”
Isiah Thomas was very happy. “Coach Skiles is such a warm-friendly and compassionate guy. At first I was upset with him for the mean things he did to us. But when I saw him drive up in the party-limo to take us to McDonalds, my heart just leapt. How could I stay mad at such a handsome rival?”
The only Knick player not in attendance was rookie heartthrob David Lee. The “Toast of Manhattan” was reported to have a life and was currently out on the town.
Do you forgive Scott Skiles?
