Too close to call. If Dallas wins game 6, they win the series, IMHO. But winning game 6 in GS will be very tough. I have to think the best team in the league can win a game on the road, though. Either way, great series so far.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I said GS wouldn't win it when they were up 3-1, and I'm saying it now. Dirk hit 2 big 3s at the end of the game and his confidence is sky high right now, b/c of that, as well as Devin Harris's. Also, as teams have been showing lately, like the Suns last year, and hopefully the Raptors this year, it's not the end of the world if you're down 3-1. Just gotto win 3 in a row, and how many in a row did Dallas win in the regular season???

My belief is this: Dallas wins in a close game in GS and then blows them out for the final and devastating blow in Dallas.

It depends on whether Jason Richardson is allowed to play.

I'd like to know the other 2 souls who have joined me in the "Dallas will beat GS" parade.

Oh btw, don't get me wrong. I'm not rooting for Dallas to win the championship. I'm rooting for either Phoenix or Houston to win it. Either one, I'll be satisfied.

I begrudgingly voted for Dallas. I'm kind of worried about jinxing them... BUT... they were the best team in the NBA this year and other superior teams have had tough first rounds where they fell down 3-1, only to come back and win the series (Suns vs. Lakers and Pistons vs. the Magic a few years ago come to mind). I think if this was a 5 game series, Dallas would've gotten knocked out because they just didn't come out ready for games 1-3, and game 4 was too late. Close but they didn't do it. They have a chance at redemption... and I think Golden State will be VERY nervous. Golden State DOES NOT want to go back to Dallas... I think they'll play tight and the Mavs will capitalize.

But frankly, I could see the Warriors slipping this out magically if Baron goes off again.

I'd like to see GS and Nellie stick it to Cube and his 6.6 mil, but I think GS and bone heads have played above their heads thus far.

If they can stay all loosy goosy and not do the the tighten up, then perhaps Im wrong.

Them not putting them away last nite was big. The "attitude" thing works to a certain extent but when you play out of your mind you tend to lose it. Reminds me of Starks and Mason at crunch time.

They get close, but when it gets crunchy, the indiciplined go "snap, crackle and pop".

Up 3-1 I just knew GS would lose Game 5 because they won the previous 2, and I don't think they'd beat Dallas 3x in a row. On the other hand, I don't think Dallas will beat GS 3x in a row, especially with Game 6 in Oakland, which has to happen if they want to advance. Even if GS lose Game 6 I'm not counting them out because they've proven they can go into Dallas' house and win games (despite choking badly in game 5).

man... here's to the Warriors making history. it's like watching the 99 knicks all over again, only minus Van Gundy

Solace - 3-1 in a five game and they are out already. That's crazy right? Just a few years ago and GS would have made history. I still think they are gonna beat Dallas. I love it when the big over condident regular season kings go down. Its just beautiful.

I just wanna see averys post game comments after losing to GS. That will be classic.

it's a pretty simple vote. If you vote with GS you are going with 95+% odds.

I'm still betting/hoping that Dallas makes it to the next round. I can't stand Don Nelson.

Maybe that 15-0 run or whatever it was to finish the game will take some of the wind away from the Warriors. Throughout the series, the Warriors have been scoring at will. At will. Then in the last 3 minutes, it all fell apart. We'll see if it has lingering effects on their confidence - likewise, we'll see if the big finish helps Dallas's confidence.

What's interesting about this series is that prior to game 5, the Mavericks uncharacteristically folded in the clutch. It's not like they were really blown out in the 3 games they lost - they just failed to execute in the last 6 minutes of the game, surprising since they're supposed to be the veteran team!

I think overall, winning game 5 the way they did will help Dallas a lot. They finally asserted themselves.

That said, Golden State has been brutally tough. Their stable of medium sized wing players has caused big matchup problems for the Mavericks. They've either been too big/strong (for Terry/Harris to handle) or too quick (for Dallas's big men to keep up with). They shoot (and make) 3's without conscience.

did anyone think the refs seemed to favor GS in the last game?

I'd like to change my vote.

Dirk didn't show up. I'm not sure they're going to make changes, but they should consider it. Their main needs are an inside player and to break up the Harris and Terry combo... playing them next to each other just causes them too many issues on the defensive end.

The other big thing is they played Dampier too little in the series. Dampier was great for them as a starter this season and they changed things around for the playoffs. You're always at high risk when you change your strategy after being so successful using that one.

If I was Dallas, I'd look to trade Terry, probably let Croshere go, and try to get a good swing guard and an interior player.

Dirk really choked this series. Only way around that is to get better offensive players to take some of the focus off of him so that he has a better chance to succeed.
