What I would add is that Curry often suffers from a lack of concentration. When you look at his game logs, you see a LOT of up and down performances. It's the games when he only gets 3-4 rebs that really hurt his avg. He has to get to the point where he stops doing that. If Curry truly wants to be as good as he says, then he should be successful in improving his rebounding. We all can see that he's not a natural rebounder, but a lot of that is just effort and technique, so he can get better. This along with getting in better shape should do it.
This is the irony of your view. You feel that the games when Curry gets 3 or 4 rebounds are the abberation. I feel that the games that Curry gets 12+ are the abberation.
He naturally doesn't look to rebound, doesn't make the effort and is usually in the wrong spot to try for a rebound. ... and then he doesn't jump. Under those factors, the games when he rebounds well are abberations, IMHO.
That's a good point. I think it's worth a look:
Of the 17 games he played In Nov. he had 3 games with fewer than 5 rebs and 3 games at exactly 5 rebs. 11 games w/6 or more rebs
Of the 16 games he played In Dec. he had 3 games with fewer than 5 rebs and 2 games at exactly 5 rebs. 11 games w/6 or more rebs
Of the 14 games he played In Jan. he had 5 games with fewer than 5 rebs. 9 games w/6 or more rebs
Of the 11 games he played In Feb. he had 1 game with fewer than 5 rebs. 10 games w/6 or more rebs.
Of the 14 games he played In Mar. he had 5 games with fewer than 5 rebs. 9 games w/6 or more rebs
Of the 9 games he played In Apr. he had 1 game with fewer than 5 rebs and 1 game at exactly 5 rebs. 7 games w/6 or more rebs.
He had 57 games with 6 or more rebs
6 games with exactly 5 rebs
18 games with less than 5 rebs
Now of course this isn't taking into account mins played, but you get the idea. My point was that he needs to have better focus on that part of the game and to take more pride in rebounding every game. IF he stops having so many games with ultra low rebounds, he'll increase his avg. Even if he doesn't have substantially more high reb games, if he can stop having games where he just disappears on the boards that would help.
I'm sorry I almost forgot to add the 12+ games. I counted 7 games at 12 or more. I think it's more fair to also add 10 or more, in which case he would have 18 games with 10 or more rebs.
