With Dolan putting the break on Isiah's spending, might it be possible that Dolan also asks Isiah to explore ways of reducing payroll further this summer and in the future?

Watching the Mavs get dismantled by the GSW- I'm thinking that Eddy Curry on the Mavs would be perfect all around.

They'd have a player that could help the slow the game down, get the other team in foul trouble and open up outside shots for their shooters.

The only player on their roster that seems to match up numbers wise is Josh Howard.

Perhaps there is a 3 way deal.

Perhaps Marbury on the Mavs makes sense?

I know this- I don't see how the Mavs can't make some kind of change in the off season.

As long as we get back Howard I'm ok with any kind of trade.

The Mavs won so many games this year and just because this has been a bad matchup for them it doesn't mean that they have to make big changes. I especially can't see them mixing Curry and/or Steph into the mix. They've developed great chemistry as they are. This could just be a case of Dallas going against a team that has their number. Sometimes it's just like that with certain teams. Adding Curry and/or Steph would likely change their chemistry too much. I get the idea of adding a low post threat, but I just don't know about Curry in particular.

one player wouldn't change their chemistry per se- though cancerbury probably could- they have a great coach and still with Dirk.

Unless they beat GS, I don't see how they can just stand pat.

All teams have to tweak, no matter how good they are. Look at Miami. They didn't make any changes. That was a bad choice on their part.

Detroit has been good at mixing up their line-up. Delfino, Murray, and mcdyess are big time. Webber makes them a whole different team.

Knicks gotta be sensitive to chemistry but they gotta get better too.

As far as Dallas? Fuck them. Now mike breen is gonna need Viagra to get his hard on back.

From the NYTimes:
Dealing Nowitzki would be a bigger shocker than losing to Golden State. Giving up Josh Howard, their other All-Star, would be a surprise, too, although it takes something to get something. Devin Harris and DeSagana Diop could be traded, but their youth and relatively cheap contracts are reasons to keep them.

I'd trade Curry & Balkman for Howard & Diop & possibly a 1st rounder.

Frye can become center with Diop off the bench.

In a true rebuild, we'd move Howard as well for picks.

Howard is a versatile, two-way ALL-STAR. I don't think you could even get him alone for Curry. If you could, you'd have to do it.

Well- I think after Dallas got exposed by GS, you've got to believe Cuban might pull the trigger on this deal- that's why I include Balkman so they have a quick defensive type for the wings.

Yeah, Balkman might help but I'd keep Howard. They're a great team that came within one game of winning a championship. I don't think they need to panic like everyone else thinks.

Getting rid of starbury 'for free' would be just as good.
I'll never trust this' team again.

In all fairness, Miami got sweept by the bulls because Wade was hurting and the bulls players worked on his shoulder. And Shaq wasn't exactly done yet either. He may be a little older, a little slower, but he can still push people around. I think the bulls going through them was a fluke! It showed in the Detroit game yesterday.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Only player I want from the Mavericks is Josh Howard and I'm not gonna give up Curry for him. Frye and Lee I'd do the deal in a second. MArbury for Howard sure piece of cake.

The first to go shoud always be starbury. And then I'd consider others, including Frye.
I'll never trust this' team again.

How does any of these ridiculous trades help the knicks? Really diop? I love howard but even moreso with curry at center. So what you guys want to do is give the mavs a piece they sorely need to win a championship and give us another wing player and a center who can't score, stay out of foul trouble and stay on the floor, but he does defend a little?

you guys are amazing.....

^ are you hating on joshy?
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I don't care where Curry goes, as long as we move up to get Corey Brewer.

Guaranteed they win fewer games if they make that trade. Their defense gets a lot worse and Curry just takes shots away from Dirk

See you're doing it again. You can't even praise Curry without using the future tense. You're talking about what you *hope* will happen and taking it as evidence that it *will* happen and that the critics will be wrong.
