Kobe is chucking.

There has been countless times where he is pulling a Steve francis and just dribbling or forcing/double clutching, while he has teamates standing wide open with their hands hanging around their knees.

What made Jordan so good is that he learned to rely heavily on his team for 3 quarters and then the team knew that it was Jordan time in the 4th.

Kobe's problem is that he has no confidence in his team. He has some good players around him. A lot of guys that can make plays and make shots. Smush Parker made his first shot of the series today! Not good cuz kobe needs smush to be a threat.

Kobe has to realize that he doesn't have to force anything cuz he is the best. What he needs to do is believe in gus teamates. Make that pass to the open man allow guys to do what they do. The lakers have great talent, but they are just standing watching too often while kobe is straight up chucking.

Amare manhandled Kwame and just dismissed Bynum like an after thought. Suns were very physical in that game 4.

That's my thing though. Kobe Doesn't need help. What he needs to to is trust gus teamates and if he is so good, direct his players and be a leader on the court.

Jordan had BUMS playing with him in his early years. It took him years before he started to trust his mates.

Kobe hasn't learned to believe in his teamates. He has done it in the past when shaq was in town but he has to realize that the game hasn't really changed. He has to trust his team and give them opportunities so when its time to make plays they are READY. A dude like paxson was a bum but Jordan have him the rock when he was open and that have him the confidence to burry those 3s. A dude like Shammond Williams, or smush could be that if they got the opportunities. Kobe doesn't even look their way in favor of the triple clutch fade away with 5 defenders on him.

Jordan also had Pippen on this team who many thought was the second best player in the league. Odom is no Pippen. Kobe is playing with players that would get no playing time or would be in the NDBl on another team.

But when they beat Phx in game 3 they were giving his role players and Kobe's complete game props but when they lose it's Kobe doesn't have help. When they pushed Phx to game 7 last yr and Kwame Brown had a good series they were giving Kobe's teammates respect. They have almost the same exact squad this yr. Either Kobe has teammates that can contribute and he's capable of playing a team game or Kobe and Phil aren't as good as advertised. You can't have it both ways. If Phil the HOF coach is so good having a 3time champion and best player in the NBA, should be giving Phx a tougher go. No one is saying the Lakers should beat them but in all honesty they have just as good a shot as any other team in the West to beat the Suns. Those 2 guys are overrated and there's nothing else that needs to be said about it.


I called this one with about 2mos left in the regular season. I said all of Kobe's chucking is going to lead to a quick first round exit with people deflecting blame from he and Phil and blaming everyone else.
