It will be sad to see him go if he does- he was a decent, good guy. And he wasn't such a bad coach for us when he stepped in.

The one coach we have who has any class and we are going to lose him to Larry Bird.

He's also the only coach that doesn't apologize and looks for accountability when there are poor results.

I don't know why Patrick would even try to get in the mix, Dolan will only turn on him once fans start jocking him and listening to what he has to say. He will tell it like it is, he called out Yao a few times in Houston.

Good for Herb. He's too much of a gentleman to be associated with this garbage.

In what way have we done Herb wrong? We gave him a shot to coach and build up his rep. It's not like he was a hot prospect originally. He's had a job and been paid well, so what's the problem. It's the media that has gone on record promising Herb the job. Dolan hasn't ever come out and said anything about Herb being guaranteed the next in line for Coach as far as I remember. I'll be glad for him if he get's a job, cuz he's a class act, but he's also been given a boost from being in such a high profile spot in NY.

Hope he gets a job elsewhere. He's not quite what I would look for in a NY coach, but I could see him succeeding elsewhere.

Herb eyes Bobcat job

Knicks assistant Herb Williams interviewed yesterday for the Charlotte Bobcats head-coaching vacancy, a source confirmed. Also interviewing in the past two days were Mike Fratello and Sam Vincent, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Williams, the Knicks interim coach during the 2004-2005 season, also is said to be on the long list for the Pacers. Williams is among at least 8 candidates in Charlotte - a list that also includes Larry Brown.

Not only that Pat is not going to anyone's assistant.He already said the next position he wants to be a headcoach. Kwing said he has already paid his dues while guys have become coaches and have never been an assisant coach.
