It involved multtiple picks per yr ( i.s. Curry Trade) or even parting David Lee? Would you make the trade if you knew Curry would become much less effective (scoring wise, he isnt much effective any other way) if J.O. was anchoring the post? There are not many teams( if any) that succeed with 2 great post scorers. I think if we trade for Oneal then we MUST to trade Curry. Quote me if the Knicks make the J.O. trade it will be the Marbury trade all over again. Do Not Trade for J.O.. Continue to rebuild through the draft and build the team around Curry. If anyone disagrees with my opinion speak your mind on the topic. ~CCH

I would trade for O'Neal only if we didn't have to trade Craw, Collins, Balkman or Lee.

Why not trade Curry and Frye for O'Neal and 2007 1st Draft Pick?

I'd do that easily. I wouldn't trade Lee for JO at this stage of JO's career, though. If we're trying to win now with no attention to the long-term (which is likely what Dolan wants), then trading Lee for JO would make sense, though.

Indy would not give up their 1st round pick along w/JO for Curry & Frye, & they would want a whole lot more than just D Lee for JO... JO isn't some washed up veteran player... he's got a lot of game left in him & he's 1 of the top bigmen in the NBA... he won't come cheap by any means.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

If we trade anyone, we should look for chemistry this time, because we don't have that with this team.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I'd hate to part with Lee, Collins and Balkman, because Lee is growing into a force and the other two show a lot of promise. I like those three being the nucleus of what might be to come.

I could see Lee and Balkman our two starting forewards, with Collins manning the ball and playing tough D and JO in the middle. And if we made a big pitch for Artest? We could have everything in defense, rebounidng and decent scoring (since we'll have defense to keep the opponent down).

Lee
Balkman
O'Neal
Artest
Collins

You guys could live with this' couldn't you?

That would be absolutely beautiful...kinda going back to the old Knicks when we were a scrappy defensive team with a dominant center

No one is going to like this comparison, and i'll apologize now BUT

Robinson deferred to Duncan and became a defensive rebounding presense after being a dominant post player offensively. If JO comes here, I could see him putting forth all his effort on D and rebounds, so Curry can do his thing.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

That would be the plan. JO is still young but his body is 10 years older than he is. He could use a reduced role or at least have a guy that can give him a break. Curry on the other hand needs a big brother guy next to him. Someone that has gus back down low where Curry could take risks on defense cuz JO is still there to hold it down if he were to get in foul trouble.

"A whole lot more"? How much more? I mean O'Neal is immensely talented no question about that... but he has missed about 80 games in the last 3 years because of injuries and averaged out he will be making about $20.5 mil a year. That is Wade, Kobe, Duncan type money and O'Neal is not in the same tier as them... add the injury risk factor and I don't think it is too far fetched to imagine some kind of trade going down like the one mentioned above. There aren't gonna be that many teams that will be going after O'Neal. And the stingier Bird is the more he risks and the less he will get back in return. Isiah should be patient and not overpay for O'Neal.
