The irony of that, DJ, is that the players you just mentioned... form them into a team and they destroy our current team, no contest.

As for blaming Larry for Matt Barnes... maybe, but I find it tough to believe, since Larry started him in 5 of the 6 games he was here, and then suddenly he's off the roster. Why would you waive a guy who you were using as a starter, especially when Larry supposidely hated Trevor Ariza. Either Larry's insane, or it wasn't his decision.

Any answer would be speculation. It's not clear to me whose decision it was. There's two dominant personalities, maybe better characterized as control-freaks. Maybe Isiah felt Ariza should be starting. Maybe Larry didn't like Ariza's attitude and started Barnes out of spite. Maybe Isiah saw this and our terrible start that year and said 'wtf' and waived Barnes? Who knows? I know Knicks management has been known for pushing the agenda of who is going to play. Chaney and Wilkens couldn't get along with Isiah's agenda. Why should it be any different with LB? But, any answer is speculation. That being said, the man who controls roster moves is Isiah Thomas, so ultimately, even if LB had it in for Barnes, Isiah had a piece in any waiving of him. Even if Isiah had an excuse of trying to appease his coach, he also holds some responsibility for Barnes. My guess would be that both are partially responsible, though in what proportion, I don't know.
