Didn't you get the memo?

Injuries.

And last year we were the best 23 win team ever, and before that the best 33 win team ever.

I'm seeing a pattern. At this rate we may be the best team ever to suck for a decade.

Nah, all this silliness ends after next season. Eddy Curry is going to be the starting center for this team next season. We might add a shooter or two which theoretically will spread the floor for him. However, Curry will still have serious problems passing out of the double team(his reaction time and decision making stinks and it can only increase marginally from this point on. Most players go through college where problems like this are screened through the competitive process-he would not have been a top draft pick if he played four years in college.) Opposing teams know that doubling him will work, and they are going to do it even more increasing levels next year. He might still get 20ppg. He might slightly increase his apg, but it is going to bad as far as turnovers for him. It is going to be increasingly obvious that forcing the ball into a post player that can't pass out is a serious strategic mistake once teams start doubling him all the time. His rebounds won't increase too much either, because of the very realistic problem that he has a very slow reaction time. His defense won't get any better for the same reason his rebounding won't increase. Next year we are in the lottery big time, and no one will be talking about us being a good lottery team next year.

We were just hanging on to begin with anyway. The injuries are what finished us off.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I don't know. L.A. Clips had some really tough years themselvels, years ago. They were the laughing stalk year after year and aren't really doing that much better now.

I don't recall their GM saying they were the best team ever to suck.

We're screwed as long as Marbury and Curry are our two best players. Not only because they're not that good, but also because their games just aren't that complementary.

I know that's nothing new around here, but it bears repeating

A scoring PG who can't pass inside and a center who can't pass outside is like a clock with hands going in opposite directions. Might make a nice novelty piece but I wouldn't plan my day around it.

Knicks are in a class by themselves for needing role players to make our franchise players better, rather than the other way around.

The Knicks PR department is really good. People actually believe that ****.

Or how about the Knicks drafting, signing and trading for the same position--or even the same player--in the same offseason? Like Jerome James, Channing Frye and Eddy Curry or Jared Jeffries and Renaldo Balkman. There's the obvious Francis and Marbury connection too adn some might even include Jamal Crawford in there as well. Then consider the only two way player on the roster for the remaining players is QRich... and he's good for, what, 60 games a season (max)? The rest of the roster only plays one side of the ball. The only hope is if Collins, Balkman and Lee expand their games. I had high hopes for Crawford when LB was in town, but that's not going to happen with Isiah encouraging him to focus on chucking.

That last paragraph was a really long way of saying that notonly do our franchise players need role players to make them better, our role players need role players.

Now that is a quote worthy of a signature.

Isiah Thomas is good. People want to believe in something, and so they will. He supplies them with tangible things they can believe in(ie- a guy like curry who has the most points in the paint this season but can't do anyting else at a competent level.)

It's not going to work after this season cause we are going to be really bad again next season. He is crafty so he will do something like saying Eddy Curry will develop a jump shot, which does help(entry pass turnovers should go down but it will create other problems), however, we are still going to be really bad next year. You can't compensate for Eddy Curry period. It just makes it worse when you have a guy like marbury making 20 million who is your best guard who doesn't complement him.

Very, very, very, very Poor Leadership. I'd replace one player and guarantee that would never happen again.
