raps are the 3rd seed.

nj, wiz and orlando are still up in the air for seedings 6, 7, and 8.

if nj beats the bulls tonight, or the wiz lose, the nets get the 6th seed. unfortunately, the nets play chicago (who's playing for the 2nd seed) and the wiz are in indiana (who's playing for nothing).

not to mention i have tickets to the first two home games in nj in anticipation for the raps (with the bulls being a consolation prize).

vince going back to face the raps would be mayhem. he may average 40 ppg, the nets may win the series but i'd much rather toronto face nj than beat the wiz and garner no props in the process.

Dave: Vince at Toronto would be a zoo. He can't possibly want that matchup, could he?
Brian G.

Bri: You have no idea. A bunch of guys said yesterday that is precisely what he wants (Antoine: "He's up for it. I don't think there's any doubt about it. He wants it"), and you'll read more about it on the print side tomorrow. The question, of course, is this: How's he going to handle it? He's had two horrid games at the ACC this year (29 points total, on 9-for-32) after owning the joint in his previous visits. So after all the abuse he's taken there, if you're into karmic justice, you kind of hope that he walks into the place, remembers that he built it, and then proceeds to tear it apart. Say this much for him: He's been the best player in the NBA in the last few weeks, and the numbers (32.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 6.8 apg) show it.

Half Man, Half Season
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

ask and ye shall receive.

raptors/nets...edge goes to the nets. more nba playoff experience from both the players AND the coaches.

kidd will post up tj ford all day long. vince will probably average 35ppg.
but they have no answer for bosh + bargnani.

coy sam mitchell will earn his stripes in this one. let's see what he's made out of.

i say nets in 6. but i'm hoping for much different.

There will be no answer for T.J. Ford and Bargnani comes back. I say Raps in 6. Remember dj it's shocking if they lose.

he is but when he's motivated - heck, he just almost finished his 3rd triple double in the past 2 weeks. and he WILL be motivated for the raps.

they are already starting an FUVC t-shirt campaign and want to enforce the new "jordan rules" on vince.

tj will weave his way in and out but it will be tough for him to get his shot vs. kidd. not having garbajosa hurts.

but the raptors are not without big game experience.

tj has made the playoffs every year of his career (not a coincidence).
parker is the euroleague mvp and won championships there.
calderon is a world champ with spain.
rasho has won nba titles.

hopefully sam mitchell can make adjustments as the series goes along. having bargnani back is HUGE.

Nah between transitions and pick and roll situations, his speed will give him enough room and time to produce offensively. Where T.J. will be hurt is on the defensive end. He'll need to make Kidd work and not allow himself to get abused in the post and get into foul trouble. That's what Frank will resort to in this series.

T.J. has shot 7-10, 7-11, 0-8, and 8-15, he'll produce heck he did against Det last yr in the playoffs.
