The Knicks are unlikely to make a big play this summer to shake up their roster but could make a sign-and-trade bid for Ruben Patterson.

Patterson has been on the Knicks' radar for several seasons now and is coming off a good season with Milwaukee.

The scariest part is that they mention S&T. Why? He's an MLE signing at best but you know he'll get more the Jarred Jeffries. Then you'd have to factor who do the Knicks give to the Bucks to make them better?

Ruben has killed us every time we played against him- I think we've probably tried to acquire him before- his agent knew- and Ruben feels stiffed.

Hence, he lights us up.

I'd stay far away- he doesn't do anything Balkman can't do except be old, break down and occupy cap space. Oh, and possibly be a malcontnent.

I wouldn't sign Rueben for more than 1 year.

We have a few guys on this team who used to kill us, when they played on the opposing team and now that they are with us, they suck. We gotta stop going after no-name players.

He's the Nanny Stopper.

Rueben should have been a knicks years ago. Dude is old now. He's definately would start for the knicks imediately but what does that say about the team?

I don't like the idea. Anytime we bring it players that we've coveted for years, they somehow are never the players they were when we played against them! Funny how that happens right?

Lets see:

1.Cant shoot
2.Questionable character
3.duplication of players we already have
4.undersized/tweener
5. on the other side of his prime

I say he fits right in...sign him up

ruben is a huge upgrade from jefferies but Id like to have balkman at the 3. I think he's earned it. if we do spend the mle or part of it on ruben atleast its not bad money spent--although IT will have to admit mistake with Jefferies.

I forgot all about us having Jefferies.

If Isiah were signing him to play behind Balkman, it would be a good signing. But we know that he'd give Patterson a 5 year, $30 mil contract. Q would start at SF; Patterson would be first off the bench and Balkman would barely play.

Actually the fear is that he'd give him more than that. If he doesn't get the yrs he'll get the money something like 4yrs/$28mil.


1. He's a better player than Jeffries, Jeffries just signed a 5yr/$30mil contract

2. Patterson made $7.8mil this yr and put up career numbers. Yeah he did it on a bad team but still

3. They mentioned S&T as a possibility that tells me he and his agent are looking to get a better deal than just the MLE

4. ISAYUGH always overpays


Watch it be something like Malik Rose and 2 2nd rounders for him. Larry Harris will not let the Knicks screw the Bucks on this one.
