I strongly reccomend this move. Nocioni is a free agent at the end of this year and the Bulls are up in the air right now with his contract situation due to the emergence of Luol Deng. So what do you think? He has been known to be dirty player, but I think its more on the lines of just an aggresive physical player. Plus we need some more aggresive players in N.Y. (FRYE IS A PUSS). He is what we need at the 3 spot. He can rebound, play D, and can hit shots from the perimeter. The only question is will he be available for the MLE?

Hmm, has yahoo stats led me astray? Maybe ESPN took into account the game they just finished? Who knows.

Anyway, a change in a percentage point here and there hardly makes a difference. Thanks for the correction though.

I honestly don't think Isiah will be able to use the MLE- I think Dolan is putting the breaks on certain kinds of deals.

I could see a partial MLE- something like what folks have thrown out for Matt Carroll- three years, $9MM kinda thing.

That said- Nocioni would be a great player to pick up- he's a winner- but plantar fasciitis - I can't remember a player having that that has returned and not still suffered from it.

No chance Nocionni is available for the MLE... he'll probably get along the lines of 5yr/45-50 mill.

Nocioni talent level is the same a many other players on this team playing the same position...He does not really put us over the top, we are just adding bodies...We have about 5 to 7 players at the same talent plateau...I wouldn't jeopardize our two year cap picture for Nocioni...I don't think Nocioni is a 9-10 mil per year player either...Curry makes 8 right now...No thanks...

He should be a top priority. That dude could start at the 4 or 3 right now.

I think its prett even whether the bulls match a mid-level. They might let him walk and just being someone else up off the bench and just totally commit to deng. Nocioni could probably earn more somewhere but I think a dude like nocioni wants to win. Only way he takes the knicks money is if the knicks makes another move to improve the team other than him.

Anyway, I love that guy man. He is a damn good player.

Nocioni is a good player but do we need him. My hope is that Balkman can develop into our SF for the future. He is a better defender and rebounder than Jeffries or Nocioni for that matter. He just needs to develop his shot. Even without a jumpshot, the kid could score 10 points a game in 24 minutes, just on pure hustle. I say, let's stop bringing in players and develop these young guys first. If IT would have passed on Jeffries this past summer, we could have been developing Balkman as our starting SF from the beginning of the season. If we get Nocioni, that just means that Balkman and Jeffries will be sitting on the bench. Jeffries I don't care about, but Balkman needs to play.

I don't so man. 10-9 million for him?? more like what ever Tim Thomas and Radmanovic got Full MLE or 6 million tops.

We shall see Anji, I wouldn't be surprised if he got in the realm of 8-9mill a year, you're right perhaps 10million a year was a bit of a reach on my end, but still there isn't a huge difference there. The difference between Nocionni and the guys you mentioned is that Nocionni scores as much as them AND is a tireless defensive hound.

I see the point of grooming your own, but nocioni fits in with what works for the knicks. Nocioni, lee, balkman? You can never have enough players that have that aggressive nature. Balkman has to perfect his ball handling and jumpshot. The knicks were hoping frye would step up to the plate. Balkman might not improve. Still nocioni isn't Jared jefferies. Another thing about nocioni is his health. He has been out a lot.

I would love to have this guy regardless. If Q can come back its just a plus.
