well I figured since recently there's been a lot of talk about Jackie Robinson and breaking the color barrier in pro sports, I'd take a look at the jackie robinsons NBA. on espn they were talking about earl lloyd and sweetwater clifton, but here's something interesting I never knew:

The Knicks were the first team to have a non-Caucasian player on their roster, Japanese player Wataru Misaka who joined the team in 1947. Fans of the era were known to call him "fortune cookie" as you never knew how he was going to produce on a nightly basis.

i've never even heard of this guy, the media never talks about him but if this is right, he was the first minority to play pro ball. oh and look at that: even back in 1947 the Knicks players were inconsistent

Wataru Misaka ehh? I thought Yuta Tabuse was the first ever Japanese NBA player...

Tabuse was the first ever Japanese-born NBA player.

Misaka is a Japanese American born in Utah.
