is that if we get one person who helps fulfill some of our needs, it's NOT going to help that much. We need many guys who can do things, like play defense, shoot and pass and generally speaking, it's important to limit the one dimensional players. We need all of our perimeter players to be able to shoot and pass and defend. The last time we were good, all of Sprewell, Houston, Ward, LJ, Jackson, Childs, Starks Harper and so and so were consistent at these things, with the exceptioon of Houston on the defense, but at least he tried.

And just look around the NBA at all of the good teams, and you'll see that almost every one of the contenders has all this consistency, with the exception of the Suns on the defense, and their prolly not winning it!

This is why we need to trade some of our "Major" players if we want to build a good team. We have not one consistent perimeter threat amongst our guards, including Crawford. He's way too erratic. Marbury is a pure penetrator who can get hot from 3 every now and then, and the same with Francis. Robinson isn't there yet and you can't tell with Mardy. I say he's a backup.

Our only consistent shooter is Frye and we all know how he's been this season. He's trade bait like everyone else in my mind.

And I say this, if we're going to build around Curry, we need a new starting lineup of 4 other players who can defend, get the ball into him and shoot the J because we have no starting calibre players to comliment him, including Lee. We'll also need a go to perimeter scorer who can get you 18-22 a game, 45% shooting. Morris Almond seems to be a good start in terms of that.

If Isiah is gonna pull a fast one and build around Crawford and Lee, which I doubt (Not the worst of ideas though), then he has to trade Curry, get a star frontcourt player, and again, more perimeter players who can pass shoot and defend.

I think 2 more shooters would be enough. So long as they do more than just shoot. In combination with what we already have, that should be enough to improve this team next year.
Q's prognosis is good. The surgery he had isn't considered one that has high risk of being a problem. I think he will be able to resume his career and be even better, since he won't have that nagging problem.

Steph and Jamal may not be the highest % shooters, but they can contribute a lot to our perimeter attack and our inside game with penetration. Now adding a player like Carroll who's a vet and ready to roll would make a difference and i'd also look to draft Almond for the future. That's enough shooting to get the job done. We'd still have Nate off the bench too.

I like what we have in Curry, Lee, Mardy and Balkman. If they can all continue to improve that will make a difference. Frye is a very tough one to figure out. He was so out of sync this year that it's hard to really judge what to do with him. Do you stay patient and see if he can bounce back next year? Do you move him now and cut your losses? Jared is what he is. He's a fill in guy. We'll have to see what Morris can do.

Yes there are a lot of ? going into next year, but no more than any other young team. I wouldn't do anything rash. Stick with many of the young players and keep developing them individually and as a UNIT. This team will benefit from the consistency. A trade is fine, but no HUGE turnovers at this point. It's not needed.
