Kobe finishes with 50 but it's not enough. They choked a 17-point lead at home (so to speak) and the Paper Clips win by 8.

The Lakers are in SERIOUS SERIOUS trouble.

LOL @ Sam Cassell: "This is to Reggie, Charles and Kenny. Yeah, I'm older. But I'm still good."

Keep proving my point Kobe you ball hogging SOB.

Just like Sam said......

"We Knew Kobe wasn't going to pass the ball that much and he'd try to score 80 if he could"

That's his game in a nutshell. He'll pass if he has absolutely no look at the rim and it will be a last resort type of pass. 11yrs in the league and his game exudes a total lack of balance.

maybe kobe would do better in a different offense from the triangle? I mean, he's such a threat, he commands so much attention.

Are the other guys on that team just not good? Are they putting numbers up strictly off Kobe?

Kobe had virtually no help tonight, though. Smush Parker was the only one really helping him with the scoring and Lamar Odom was pretty much invisible.

That's been the Chicken and Egg situation with the post-dynasty Kobe-led Lakers. It's either Kobe dominates the ball b/c his teammates aren't that good OR his teammates aren't that good b/c Kobe dominates the ball.

The end of last season proved that when Kobe has help, he'll pass the ball.

Kobe should be a Triple Double threat every night. He's that good. The problem with him he only has joy going 1 on 5. He's average to sub par in other areas of the game. I also blame Phil Jackson who's suppose to be this freakin Wizard, when to tell you the truth the Triangle is 90% Tex Winters. Phil Jackson basically alienates the role players and glorifies Kobe with his scheme. I mean who is the point gaurd of the team? Kobe... Who is their post player? Kobe... Who is their shooting gaurd? Kobe... Kobe not only shoots an infinite amount of times but he also does way too much ball handling. Then when they come up short they blame things on the role players saying things like, "our players still don't quite understand the intricacies of the triangle", or "Kobe spent too much energy trying to lift his team". Why does Lamar Odom look like crap in L.A. but looked very good in Miami the yr Wade was a rookie?

LOL he has the same teammates. The only thing I guess you could say is that injuries hit their team but once again Kobe should be good enough to lead them to a better record than .500. The Lakers have a HOF coach and a 3 time champion who is the best talent in the NBA.

Interesting notion about the ballhogging. I can't seem to find the article but very recently there was an article about the unselfish play of the raptors, in which Sam Mitchell said (if memory recalls correctly) if you wait until the last 10 seconds to take a shot, it's a 26 percent shot. If you shoot the ball earlier, it's a 48 percent shot. Which is why we get mad when you pass the ball when you're open.

Something like that anyway.

Now I wonder if there are any stats on when in the shot clock the Lakers take their shots. I presume a majority of them are done by Black Mamba in the last 10 seconds.
