Can an Apologist explain to me how the Pacers made the playoffs in 2004-2005 when Oneal was suspended for 15gms, Artest gone for the season and Stephen Jackson 25gms and these were 3 of their Top 6 rotational players? I won't even bother to post their statistics that year but will mention O'neal was an All-Star and Artest would have been one if he wasn't suspended and Jackson was like their Crawford offensively. O'neal also got injured that season and played a whopping total of 44gms. Guess what that team won 44gms in a much tougher division where it had 4 of the 5 teams win 42gms or more.
Here's the team they were fielding while they were out, a Box Score of that season against the Knicks. O'neal and Tinsley were injured and Jackson had returned..... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=250405018 Stephen Jackson vs Tim Thomas Scot Pollard vs Kurt Thomas Dale Davis vs Jerome Williams Anthony Johnson vs Stephon Marbury Reggie Miller vs Jamal Crawford Jeff Foster vs Maurice Taylor James Jones vs Trevor Ariza Eddie Gill vs Jermaine Jackson Austin Croshere vs Malik Rose John Edwards vs Michael Sweetney ??????????? vs Bruno Sundov ??????????? vs Jackie Butler As you all can see we even got blown the F out by this depleted woeful team that had no true chemistry or anything of the sort that yr. Franchise player was out along with an almost lock Defensive Player Of The Yr In Artest. There were times during that season their team was worst. They had 2 4gm and 1 5gm winning streaks that season. Get this, they even won a playoff series against the Celtics. Posted by TrueBlue: Can't. This is your best indictment that this Knick team does not have enough players with heart and it is an indictment of the front office and coaching staff. Because I remember that Pacer team playing their butts off to stay afloat. I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

"The Pacers were a perennial playoff team before that season and were coming off a 61win season, so of course they would drop 17gms" LOL! HOFer David Harrison was a go to player for them for a stretch. LMFAO @ the Bio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephon_Marbury
