Coaching: D
Coaching comes down to a few factors, the ability to take care of the ball, run an offense and play defense. you do those things with any group of players you should win as many games as the knicks have.....
What i find strange is the larry tanked the season, had to incorparate a roster that never played together, q, curry, woods, rose, francis, nate, frye, lee, davis, barnes, james. Had to deal with an obese eddy curry a mentally damaged q who missed the same number of games last year, and pretty much made a joke of the season and isiah has won 9 more games. 9! Sure we have had our injuries you can say lee and crawford, but can't say q since the messiah said he knew he was taking on a player that needed major surgery with a long term unisured deal for the privledge to take nate robinson. IF YOU LOOK AT THE GAMES THE KNICKS HAVE BEEN BLOWN OUT OF IT AMOUNTS TO ROUGHLY 25% OF THEIR GAMES
Development & Going Foward:
Isiah has proven adept at one thing, selecting nice role players to glue the thing together and these role players could turn into fringe All-Stars
Lee and Balkman -For some strange reason I see Isiah moving Lee this offseason to get JO, just to prove a point how right he was about Balkman. I give him credit he perhaps selected the NBAs top 3-4 rebounding combo for years to come, once they both get starters minutes. Not far fetched to imagine double doubles, if we had a pg that could run a break, god help everyone.
And Collins will be a step above Charlie Ward long term which is something every team needs.
Curry: Isiah needs to turn Curry into Shaq in order to justify possibly helping the bulls sign ben wallace and trade for Garnett with the knicks lottery selections, bet on it happening. If Curry leaves isiah sights this summer the team is doomed. The entire fate of the francise is dependent on getting this guy into fighting shape and drilling him all summer. Which i believe is possible, since isiah is a proud fool and will be on a mission, hopefully. Lock Jerome James in a suana and see what happens
Allan Houston: Will he be a cheap bastard and try to go for the most money or will he realize that his deal started the decline of the franchise and give us 15 minutes a night off the bench to space the floor for curry. Don't count out the serious asset that he can become for this team if he comes out of retirement.
Frye, Crawford, Nate: 2/3 need to be moved in a package to upgrade the talent of the team, or even to move up in the draft to get our hands on a pg, or a sg.
Draft Selection: Can we move up in the draft through a trade or do we look to fill our sg spot? Arron Affalo? Morris Almond? Rudy Fernandez?
Do we go with a power foward Josh McRoberts? Tiago Spittler
Second Round Talent Sean Williams Jared Dudley Curtis Sumpter: Wild card could be a nice backup three at a low cost that can stroke it
Isiah said he can make this unit a contender, and there is a slight possibly to do so with the right trade. We missed the boat having ariza instead of jefferies and francis. who amazingly would have given us more production than both for 15 million less. But if he can swing a deal to get someone that can space the floor and make things happen with the right draft and the development of curry i think he may have a chance to make good on his promise.
