Both the Yankees and Met made the playoffs.

Both the Jets and Giants made the playoffs.

The Devils, Rangers and Islanders all made the playoffs.

The Nets look like they're going to make the playoffs.

And the Knicks...well they still suck but 8 out of 9 ain't bad.

Unless you're still a Knicks fan.

Still a proud Knicks fan. I believe that this team would be in the playoffs this year if not for the injuries, but that wouldn't change the reality that this team still has a long way to go, to get to the ultimate prize.

After last season, we wanted this season to at least be one that this team was able set a base to build on. I think in many ways that happened. It wasn't a total loss just because we missed the playoffs and have a losing record. Let's look forward to the continued improvement of some of our young players and some welcome changes to make the team better this offseason.

I bet you still believe in Santa.

Why do you think they still have a long way to go and do you think needs to be changed?

do you really think this team has a chance to win a title under Isiah? bear in mind qrich has chronic back problems and will never play a full season, and that marbury is getting more and more injury proned every year.

Ummm... Slim, Knicks haven't won a championship in 36 years. I kinda think it goes beyond Isiah.

Tell me what GM guarntees a Title? It's so hard to do that I can't expect anything except that a good GM should be able to get his team to the level of a contender. I can only expect that Isiah should be able to do that. The rest is often up to just having good fortune. You peak at the right time you can get to the Finals with a contending team. Some things are often out of your control. What teams you face in the playoffs and when. Heck the Knicks got there as an 8th seed once, so you can never predict how that's gonna go. You have to be in it tho. I believe that this team will get to the level of a perennial playoff team. We have to get there 1st and then take it from there.

As far as Steph and Q go, I'm expecting that this team will improve to the point where we aren't solely reliant on just them. That's why I believe Isiah will be looking to add more perimeter players. Steph won't be as likely to break down if we go into next year with a better Mardy. Along with Jamal that should be enough to take the load off of Steph. Q's prognosis is good and let's hope that the Chronic nature of the back pain will be greatly lessened now that the source of the pain has been removed. Even so, you can expect that isiah will add someone else to help at SF/SG.

I meant to say contender. I must not have been paying much attention to what i was saying when i said win a title. My standards are actually kind of low. I'd be satisfied with Isiah if he could turn this team into a 50 win team.

anyway I'm not sure I get it. even if this team improves to a point where we wont need to rely on steph and q to win 36 games like we do now, how do we improve again beyond that point to win 45 games, or 50 etc..? wheres that improvement going to come from? the mle? the 20th pick? balancing the roster?

As always, I say again, I have no issues if the Mets win the WS, as long as their fans don't.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

if it wasnt for Isiah, the roster, the injuries and the fans the Knicks would definatly have made the playoffs.

Well yea your pretty much right but it looks like the Islanders are heading for a quick exit. But no one really cares so its ok... unless your an Islander fan.

I'm not saying they're done but they are playing the best team in the entire NHL.

They weren't lucky enough to get a lame Atlanta team.

And the Islanders were a big story on Sunday so I guess somebody cared.
