As someone who does not like IT and was a Brown supporter last year - I feel it's time to weigh in on the results of this year. IT has done a few things worth mentioning this year
The Good 1)We improved about 10 games from last year 2)From an entertainment perspective, their have been some exciting games/finishes 3)The players are (overall) responding better to IT than to Brown 4)We picked up another potentially talented player in R.Morris 5)Balkman (and Collins) look to be hard-working players with some ability 6)Marbury, Lee and Curry have maximized their capabilities (IT has played them to their strengths)
The Bad 1)We only improved about 10 games from last year (should have been 15-17) 2)We are terribly inconsistent, and do not possess an identity 3)The effort on D is not good enough to make us even an average defensive team 4)IT has had several run-ins with players/media that seemed unnecessary/inappropriate 5)R.Morris is not expected to be a defensive force or rebounder (what is needed next to Curry) 6)Crawford, Nate and Frye have taken a step back in their effort (Frye), production (Frye) and discipline (Nate and Craw)
The Ugly 1)IT has been here over 3 years and are record is worse (now) than the first year he took over 2)We lose this year's pick (lottery?) and have to give up another first rounder in the next 2 years 3)Most of our players play only offense or defense - only 2-way players are Q, Collins & Lee 4)Frye will likely have to be traded - what realistically can we get for him - he's soft and slow 5)IT was extended prematurely, only securing Dolan's opinion that he will sink the boat with IT
So I am hopeful about a few things, especially Balkman getting a jumpshot, Nate maturing (if he's here), Curry going on a diet, Francis leaving, Q healing and finding a defensive 4 that can cover for Curry. When I awake from my dream, I hope I see at least 3 of these things instead of another overrated mid-level signing.

Isiah has some decisions to make in regards to who he's going to look to bring in. What's THE most important move to make. You mentioned a PF that can cover Curry's back and i've read some mention Turiaf. I think Isiah could look to do something like that.
There's also the idea of a 3pt shooting SF like Lewis. Who knows if Seattle will go for that trade, but you can see that happening too.
He would then have some options with the draft pick. Most likely he'd take a SG. I like Almond, but there are others.
I do think Isiah will be very active this offseason. It's impossible to predict exactly what get's done but I think he has a new lease on life from Dolan and he'll be busy. I know that scares some of us, but maybe he'll make better decisions this time around. No more J. James's.

Good post, not a lot to argue. I think most of what we saw this year was very predictable. The only major surprise to me has been Balkman's production. I had no idea waht to expect having never seen him play and went in with an open mind and am very happy with what I saw.
I thought Marbs would play well for Isiah but after the start of the season I was very frustrated and did kind of expect another rebellion. But I think Isiah handled it well. He put his foot down and when Marbs realized he had no support going the direction he was going, he rallied and played some of the best ball of his career. The rally was surprising to me.
NOt to many surprises with the rest of the line-up. Gusy like Curry and Nate and Jamal have always shown us they score, the surpise will be when they play D.
It's obvious that this offseason is as big as last year. We have to make some very important decisions as we build this team. I think last seasons "hater" vs. "lover" nonsense is starting to die down and fans realize that to build the team we may just have to trade some productive players that we like. By staying on the course of building and not being seduced by another starphuch we can make some more progress. Just pray we can keep Isiah away from the sirens.

I agree with everything you said Bip but I just hope the Knicks keep an open mind to everything. If they have to trade Curry for something brighter, they need to do it, b/c anyone on a 31 then 23 then possible 33 win team should be considered equally tradeable, and that includes Balkman and Lee.

Of course that included Balkman and Lee, just because they are white doesn't mean they are off the trade table.

I forgot they were both white. I guess I'll take them off, but maybe we can get Slavko Vranes and Lampe back, as well as Keith Van Horn just b/c I have sympathy towards white players whether they suck ars and don't play hard, or not.

The funny thing is that I actually debated whether I should use that green smiley or not. I figured if I didn't I'd have half the Imus post in here threatening to sue me. Man you know censorship and sensitivity is out of control when the Bip is forced to use smileys.
