Miami Heat forward James Posey is feeling the heat Monday after he was charged with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. Police say Posey was blocking traffic in Miami Beach in the 400 block of 41st Street at about 3:50 a.m. Monday when he stopped to talk to a couple of people on the street." CBS4

"When the officer asked Posey for his license, he pulled out one from Texas and dropped it while handing it to the officer. The officer then asked the 6-foot-8 forward to step out of the car and pick up his license." CBS4

"Once out of the car, Posey displayed "bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath," the police report said. The player also was unsteady on his feet and swayed while standing, police said. Posey was arrested and taken to Miami-Dade County jail. He was later released on $1,000 bond." AP/MyFoxColorado

Miami played last night in an overtime game and they lost. He should have been home instead of out celebrating.

Not condoning what he did. Drunk driving is stupid and drunk drivers deserve what they get. This goes without saying. Regarding the NBA image though, I think while Stern is fighting for a good rep, he should be thankful he doesn't appear to have any Pacman Jones's in his league, or guys coming to practice with semi automatic rifles, ect, like how NFL players have in the past. Although Zach Randolf seems to be getting REAL bad.

Ron Artest, however, is an angel compared to certain NFL players.

this is so not worthy of a thread. Drunk driving? James Posey? Who cares?

Exactly Killa. Again, I would never praise such a thing, but this type of crime has become such a norm, who cares if a celebrity does it. I'm surprised they don't get caught more often.

Yeah it's not like a General officer of a billion dollar baseball club does that or the winning manager of World Series. It a NBA thing.
