I just want to take a closer look at what isiah has done.

Aside from wins/losses and bad signings, isiah still has a nice group of young guys on this roster. David lee, balkman, Nate, Collins, Curry, and Mr. Shy. Randolph Morris still is a rookie that hasn't had a rookie year yet really. Dudes, that's 7 young bastards with tons of skill and promise.

Craw is totally inconsistant but he seems to be the teams leader. He is calm when the pressure is on and I think the team feeds off that. Marbs has become a basketball player this year.

This is without talking about bad contracts.

THE FUTURE IS STILL BRIGHT.

Q has to be viewed in the same light as Big Game, francis and Malik. The dude is useless is the point I'm trying to make. These guys are just bad moves but they aren't crippling as far as the future.

Jared is a damn retard but he is proving to be servicable.

Isiah still has a shot at adding to this team.

The past moves are becoming the past. Isiah has the chance to really improve this team guys.

The blueprint is there to add what the knicks need.

If you look at the Roster and how some of the young talent has developed so far, you can see that there is a lot to work with here. We have a chance to make some changes/additions this summer and make this team better. I think that the team is a lot closer to being a good team than the naysayers want us to think.

Curry is a force inside and he's not even a fully developed player yet. Some will complain about that, but it is what it is. He's still got things to learn, but he's also got a lot of ability.

Lee showed that he's for real this year. He's just what we need and he still has upside to his game.

Balkman and Collins showed that they are in the mold of Lee and will give us a real solid bench.

Despite his somewhat shaky 1st yr, Jared should be a solid Role player, which is what we wanted.

Despite his bad 2nd year, Frye still has the talent to turn it around and be a better player. We'll see if Isiah sticks with him or uses him in a deal

We won't know about Morris for a while, but from everything we've seen he's a talent.

Overall there are other things to look at as goos signs, but there's also the fact that the TEAM actually came together and held together this year. They like each other and they play hard. I'm looking foward to summer moves and next year.

There's some nice pieces, and alot of unneccessary pieces too...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Basically, I agree with most of what's been said. I'd like to add that Q has shown himself to be a talented player who helps on both ends of the court, when he's healthy. So the question is will the surgery that he just had solve his problem or improve it significantly. I guess the safest attitude is to be sceptical until we see what the does next season.

Good post Eny. I see some talent there too. The immediate future does not have championship written on it but its not complete abyss either.

This team should be fairly competitive next year if the following happens: 1) Balkman and Collins improve their jumpshots, 2) we waive Francis, 3) Q can come back at about 95% and play 65+ games, and 4) Curry can pass better out of the double teams. If these things happen (and really other than maybe Q, everything else should happen) and nothing else changes too drastically, I think this team will win 40-45 games next year, which should be good enough for the 7th seed.

We have some nice complimentary pieces, but we don't have that major piece to complete the puzzle.

i disagree with this wholeheartedly. i don't really think we too many complimentary pieces at all, that's why "chemistry" is so tough to attain and has been for so many years.

basically what it comes down to is the fact that we have so many heavily flawed players. and that's expected considering our team is basically made up of late 1st round picks, as well as lottery picks that never really helped their previous teams excel and were made available for a reason.

that's why frye should be considered a major dissapointment b/c he was OUR lotto pick. no trade, no free agent signing, but OUR pick.

we can not field a team that can play some defense AND score some points at the same time. technically, we have only two, 2-way players on the roster: quentin and marbury. quentin can't play for more than 55 games a year while steph has a lot of mileage and will be playing hurt the rest of his career.

we're built on shaky ground.

I think he means we have the pieces to complement a top notch player (That we don't have.), not that they necessarily complement each other very well.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

i also disagree with that assessment. our shooters are sub 42% guys. we have no defense out of the 2, 4, and 5 positions. we don't have any 2-way players and nobody that can run the offense. i think we have a decent BENCH but that's about it. we need a new starter at every position outside of center.

I think most of these guys are very good bench players or decent starters. We definitely added two good defensive players. Looking at most of the recent Championships, it takes 1 top 5 guy, another guy in about the top 15, and a whole bunch of guys that are decent starters or very good bench players. Those type become better players when you have a Shaq/Duncan whoever. But landing that guy is the trick every team is trying to pull off.

I think Curry can grow into a very good second-best player. There is no reason to think any of our young players won't get better. Now all we have to do is find that Dirk!
