It's become clear to everyone that Nate doesn't have what it takes to be a PG. I don't think he'll ever have the court vision, ball handling, and passing skills to be a fulltime PG. He has a hard time getting the ball up the court when pressured. He has a hard time delivering the ball to the post because he's so small (it's tough for him to deceive taller/longer defenders who can cut off his angles), so he isn't an ideal partner for Curry.

As a SG, he has all of the fire and desire of a John Starks and the bravado to take the big shots under pressure.

Nate's sometimes been compared to Iverson in the sense that they're both undersized SGs, but the difference is that Iverson has legitimate skills to play the PG spot, but generally chooses to use his out of this world quickness to score. Nate, on the other hand, has to be a scorer to be effective. I think Boykins of the Bucks has the same issues as Nate, with a somewhat different skill set.

Ironically, in a game featuring the 2 smallest players in the NBA, they didn't guard each other a whole lot, probably because neither is accustomed to guarding small players.

I thought they guarded each other the whole time they were on the floor together. Bokins didn't play that much, that's why you didn't see them together that offten.

I don't think anybody ever said Nate was a point, but he still can up his skills to backup, hold down the fort for a couple minutes status. I do believe Nate needs to work on the handle this summer or not so much the handle, but his composer/balance.staying under control while dribbling. That AI stuff, who knows really, Nate is a second year bench player still feeling his way to find his place in the NBA. That's really that all needs to be said.

That is why if Nate cannot play pg within the next 2 yrs, he'll be done in the NBA. A guy his size is so limited in the nba, he has no choice but to learn to play the pg position.

bogues, webb, boykin, tj ford.. they all played pg and cannot play shooting guard.

Unless you have a pg like mardy collins who stands 6'5 play pg and move nate at the 2 where he'll still guard the smaller opposing pgs in the league..

Boykins aint a pure point guard either. When he was in Denver, he usually played with Miller. Nate is explosive and on any given night can go for 25 plus. With the right coach in the right system, Nate is a nice change of pace option off the bench.

Boykins is an SG, and so was Spudd Webb. Dana Barros (5'9") and Calvin Murphy (5'9") were shooting guards. Michael Adams (5'10") was a shooting guard. It's tough to be that short and play SG, but it does happen.

The difference between Nate and each guy you mentioned is that they all were.are very smart basketball players. To put it in the nicest terms, Nate isn't even close to that level yet, IMO.

I think that is why nate is more suited to SG than PG. Scoring is his instinct and he is naturally very good at it. Making heady plays and setting people up is much tougher for him.

well last year LB ripped him for not being a PG, and he was really a SG but I thought coming into this season he'd be trying to show LB wrong by improving his PG play
