I am not saying to PLAN on him being healthy all season next year, but, if it all was as simple as just having this surgery to repair whatever was wrong with his back(I mean can it really, really, really be THAT easy?!?!?) We will be in a hell of a position next year if we can consolidate our roster.

Yeah, I watched him on the pre game show. He said that he avoided surgery for all these years because he was scare to have doctors to open his back. That's crazy, I would think that a team could trump his decision. I guess players always have the last say, like Houston postponing his surgery. I know Bird put off his back surgery for years because he was afaird like Q but that was 17 years ago so maybe modern medicine has improve.

This is an excerpt for an article today:

Richardson may not ever be the same player, but he claimed yesterday he feels better than before his back surgery. In his first remarks since disk surgery nine days ago, Richardson said, "I feel a lot better. I walk better than I did before I got the surgery. I'm more straight-up. I don't have any pain anymore." Richardson shut it down for good March 16. "I don't think there's a guarantee," Richardson said. "It was told to me I won't have these problems any more." Richardson said he'll be on the court this summer playing basketball, and ready for training camp. "I'm going to rehab like crazy," he said.

It sounds like there is a chance the guy could come back next year relatively healthy, which would help solve our SG woes. If he can come back at 95%, I think that would be good enough for him to really help this team.

Richards needs to be traded. He isn't solving any woes. Not shooting guard, not SmallForward, not off the bench...................

He better try to lose weight and stay off the heavy weight lifting.

I agree. He looks really heavy. He could stand to lose 15 pounds.

Don't be silly. Of course he helps if he's healthy. He hasn't really been healthy since we got him. Still this year he showed how good he can play if he's relatively pain free. He looked a bit heavy this year and i'm sure that he's going to get in good shape for next season. He's a good character guy for this team. I wish him only the best in regards to his health. IF he's able to stay on the court most of the season next year that will really help along with us adding some more perimeter players who have good BB IQ's.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but what about Q don't you like other than the fact that he is injured. He can shoot and pass. Has the ability to post up. Shoots at a decent percentage and can hit 3 point shots. Plus, he is coachable and a leader on the floor. He also does not turn the ball over alot and plays defense. So why does he need to be traded?

i can't be the only one who likes Q.... he can shoot 3s, off of a screen-curl, he takes advantage and posts up smaller players, is one of 3 knicks on this team who can make their FTs, is an underrated rebounder, actually plays defense consistently, and isnt afraid to get in peoples faces when they are being lazy. yes he's overpaid. but he is probably the most complete player we have on the team, and one of the most consistent.

Q is good when he is 100 percent but I don't think the Knicks can go into next season hoping we have that Q Rich again...I think the organization has to move on...If he does a TJ Ford after his back surgery, then great, it gravy...I think it's time for Isiah to show us his plan....It's time to stop hoping for things to work out and implement a plan with players that can deliver...

But I for one wish we get Q back 100%...

fresh, I'm being nothing but sincere here to see how you're feeling. I sense some angst from you in recent weeks. I'm sensing a disappointment that goes beyond injuries and the like that might excuse our record. How do you feel about the season? Other than the obvious (like Frye) who's disappointed you? Has your optimism in our future taken a hit?

LOL, I forgot I was dissing QRich in this thread. The man is a powerForward trapped in a shooting Guards body. How can you be starting if you cant dribble as a shooting guard, or pass off the dribble or get your own shot or shoot off of screens or create for others???? LOL

Defensively the lore of Q rich pisses my off because out side of Tmac and Leron this guy get's torched all the time but nobody ever points it out. The knicks have won many games missing this ok Defensive, spot up shotting, 6'5" powerForward. If he is the answer the question has to be, "what the hell does he do for this team"................ 2 full seasons of seeing him in suits on the bench and I still can't firgure it out.

You must not have seen him earlier in his career.
