Good point. All the troubles go back to Layden. All the moves Isiah made, he made because he had to solve the problems Layden caused.

In fact, he still hasn't solved them all. Today's problems are still Layden's fault. This doesn't even take into account what Larry Brown did to this Franchise. I think it will be 2019 before the Knicks are fully recovered from the one-two punch of Layden and Brown.

Just give Isiah time. It's going to take a lot of work to recover from the damage done by those two.

I love how people love to mark Isiah's tenure here as the START of the Knicks problems......and his possible departure as the END of the Knicks' problems. They act like if Isiah was gone everything will look up even though Dolan is the one who hired both Isiah and Layden to carry out the vision he has for the Knicks. Comical.

What does that have to do with anything? Isiah CONTINUED to mismanage the team and has us in an even bigger hole. To pin this on Layden is like pinning George W. Bush's failures on former president Bush or Clinton. Give me a break!!! He had complete control and so far our team stars are the official McDonalds mascot and a point guard who hasn't said the right thing in 11 years in the NBA, and has a trend that the higher his stats go, the worse a team does. Zzzzz... a monkey picking names out of a hat could've created a team with equal success.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The so-called NYK retrospective could start:

1. when Ewing was signed for $68M

2. the day Al Bianchi took the job

3. the moment Frank Layden entered the building to provide comic relief

4. the moment the Knicks became a corporate entity (Gulf+Western)

5. the day the headlines said "Good Riddance" to the big fella

6. when Walt Frazier was traded to the Cavs (very bad karma)

7. the day after Marv Albert was fired

8. when Willis Reed left the building or when Dave DeBusshere was fired

9. when Spencer Haywood, Bob McAdoo, Paul Westphal, Truck Robinson or Kiki Vandeweghe was the designated savior

10. when Dancing Harry stoppped dancing

but arkrud submits that the state of the franchise is all the fault of Isiah Thomas

I just listed what IT did
This speaks for itself
This is the best training material for any GM in NBA on how team should NOT be run
The thing I cannot understand waht IT did to get support on this side. Are we in Chicago or Detroit?

I love how people love to pretend that Isiah had nothing to do with exacerbating the problems he inherited and the problems that have been created since he's been here. Everything is always somebody else's fault but never Isiah's. They act like Isiah was the only GM who could possibly fix the problems that he's made worse.
