Egads! This is rich!^^^^
Yes, it was Isiah telling Brown to start Rose and Davis in front of Lee! Yes, it was Isiah telling him not to play Lee all game. It was Isiah telling Brown to put Lee in mainly during garbage time!
Good comical stuff...

Anyone who criticizes Isiah for the Francis move because trades are the GM's final decisions has to criticize Brown for awful playing time distributions because that's the coach's decision.
If you want to be technical, I'm not sure I agree. The coach can override the GMs decision... and risk getting fired. The GM can override the coaches decision... with no recourse. There's still that chain of command, and role aside, GM outranks coach. Some GMs micromanage, so it's possible Isiah had some role in the coaching. In the case of Larry Brown,, I think the rotations were mostly LB, though, but that isn't always the case. For instance, when Don Chaney was coaching, he had a season start off where he had Kurt Thomas and Charlie Ward starting the season with career high numbers over say 10 games. Then they were mysteriously benched for McKnee and Eisley. Chaney couldn't give a real explanation to the media. In that situation, I always felt like Layden pushed that issue, for "trade value". In that sort of situation, a less powerful coach is somewhat helpless. Just playing devil's advocate for technicality.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
