cassell just went down with back spasms. livingston is done for a while (if not forever).

cassell is owed $6+ mil next year.
maggette is owed $7+ next year and player option for $8 in 2008.

francis for cassell + maggette.

I don't think they'd do it. Marbury for Cassell plus Maggette is probably more realistic from a Clippers' perspective.

If you can come up with a Francis trade that seems to make sense for the Knicks, it's probably unrealistic.

Why do the clips do it?

Then we have to trade Crawford and/or Nate nad we have to find a way to move Cassell too, even though he can still contribute, he's old now and oft injured.

I think the rest of the NBA knows the Knicks have no use for Francis and will probably just wait for the buyout after the season...Why assume such a salary when you can negotiate with him for a much cheaper rate...

cassell is toast. the guy barely played this season and caught a back spasm running back on defense. the guy's career is basically over. and they've been trying to dump maggette for the longest. this allows them to win the talent portion of the deal and with all the money they already have invested in the team, they need some talent to help them right now.

Sadly, this is the truth. Francis has absolutely zero, zilch, nunca, zippo trade value.

That pretty much sums it up. This is the reason the Knicks tried to keep the buyout secret because they did not want to lose the ability to trade him. But now most teams figure that the Knicks are going to waive the guy, so why would they take on that huge salary unless they wanted to give the Knicks worse contracts.

Well francis has gone out of his way to deny it also. Francis knows he can get more money somewhere if he waits till the off-season. Rugt now not many teams would want to invest a mid-level on him. That's probably what he wants if not more.

Anyway, Sam cassell and mags for by makes sense but the clips are gonna want something else and that is Nate or a pick of some kind.

Not sure if its even but mags is the same type of selfish bastard francis is. Would he come here and complain about touches and minutes?

The dude gets to the line, hits 3pters, and rebounds. He's basically Q with leg and abdominal problems.

I'm in between on this deal, but if francis is gone then that makes me happy.

I would do Marbury for Maggette and Cassell.

Hell I'd give'em our draft pick on top of it.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

But I feel sorry for the team that signs Francis, the man is a team killer. BUt I guess it will help the Garden. Marbury for Cassell and Maggette is a good trade.

Q is a much better defender than Maggette, has an overall better feel for the game and has better leadership qualities than Maggette... but his back.. oi
