If the Knicks don't quit on the season, they STILL have a chance to get in. The Nets don't exactly have an easy schedule in April:

4/4 vs Hawks

4/6 at Bulls
4/7 vs Wiz

4/10 at Wiz

4//12 at Cavs
4/13 vs Knicks

4/15 at Pacers
4/16 at Knicks

4/18 vs Bulls

Not that they play us as the 2nd game off back to backs in a very short time period. JUST ONE DAY OFF between 2 game sets!!! Now our schedule isn't a cakewalk, we only have a few winnable games mixed in there. So this is a long shot, but there is still a chance, if the Knicks can catch a break and win a game that they aren't favored to win.

Don't despair guys. I know it's dark right now, but until they're actually eliminated I would hope that they keep trying just as hard. this team is not just playing for this season but for the seasons to come. The young guys are getting some important experience playing in these tough games. This is a semi playoff atmosphere for this team. Every game being so important. The mistakes that they're making will hopefully be good lessons for them.

I'm very pleased overall with how Mardy and Balkman have stepped up in their rookie season. I'd like to see them continue to play meaningful games all the up to the end of the year. The scenario I've posted above is actually what i'd love to see happen. Just keep fighting and hopefully pick up a game or two before we play the Nets.

It's most likely frustration right after another tough loss. He'll probably feel better when they get home and start the next practice. He's human, if i'm a bit depressed after this loss i'm sure he feels it too.

knicks next 3 games are all against (fellow) lotto teams: philly, minny, @ milwaukee. they simply must win these 3 games. the nets have washington and chicago in that time. the nets go 1-2 and the knicks go 3-0, we are 1 game back with 2 games coming up against them.

anything is possible.

Until i'm told that we're officially out of the running, you keep playing hard and see where the chips fall. If for nothing more than building character, i'd want to see this team keep playing the same way until the last game. It's as I said not just about this year. We have 3 rooks who need to know what the proper attitude is. If they see that we always play hard until death, then they will carry that attitude with them as they play the rest of their career here.

We've got 3 days off and then we face Phi at home. Just take it from there and see what happens.

It is over, but the team needs to continue to play hard. Really, the only chance we have of making the playoffs is if we beat NJ both games. Given that we have not beaten them once when we were relatively healthy, our chances of beating them home and away are slim. But I still hold out a small hope that somehow the team can put together a run. It would be amazing.

The fan in me wants to believe its not over, the realist in me tells me we are cooked. It's just too much to do without our key guys, we need damm near perfect games from everyone every night, it's just difficult. If I can say one thing about the team this season, it is that they will not quit. So I am hoping by some stroke of magic we can turn these games into Ws.

I think the Knicks officially can't be a .500 team. To add to that, they've been losing to bad teams left and right, letting games slip away against any team (See Dallas) and they've been using that injury excuse way too much. They officially don't deserve a playoff spot, and if they get one, it would be sad for the NBA that a team like the Knicks made it. I don't say that as a hater. It's best for the Knicks as an organization because you get good things when you earn them and the Knicks just didn't earn it. There have been some nice individual improvements some certain players. There are a couple of players we can enjoy and look foward to, but that's really it. It's a bad team, and bad teams don't deserve playoffs.

You'd be at the end of the bench, including during garbage time, for most coaches. You play hard all the time no matter what, and fight to the bitter end. To me, the end is not when you're officially out, but when the buzzard sounds at the end of the 82nd game, or when you're knocked out of the playoffs.
