this is interesting, to see the old excitement that someone could actually be a NY kind of player who would love the fans and the fans would love.
that kind of idea has been killed over recent years.
i used to think the knicks were so special b/c when you played here the city and fans wouldn't let you not be your best. i used to think that guys like starks and mason and childs were examples of people with mediocre nba skills, but who the city helped will into being front line players on title contending teams.
but now, after all this suckiness, i realize that those guys were more legitimately talented than the media gave them credit for. and the impact the city and fans has on pushing a player to new heights is minimal, if it even exists at all.
i used to think nyc would push guys like maurice taylor and tim thomas to their max potential. just a buncha b.s. really.
