According to ESPN's Tom Friend, Florida's Billy Donovan will replace Pat Riley as head coach of the Heat for the 07-08 season.

I knew Billy growing up. This makes me uniquely qualified to talk about him.

Billy could be a good coach everywhere but I wonder if his rah rah high quality stiff gets lost on the tainted superstar.

Donovan replaces Riley? Sure. Until Riley sees the squad can win the big one, then mysteriously Donovan steps down mid-season because of family problems.

Screw Riley and his Brill Cream!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

If Fla wins he can command top dollar.

Go to pros for 5 years and get multigenerational wealth and then return to college.

The Pitino plan!

It's funny that Donovan and Pitino are so similar, both Long Island guys, both outstanding players (Donovan was better and his pedigree is good, his dad is the third leading scorer in BC history.) and both seemingly born to coach especially at the college level. Pitino is a good mentor for that path.

Go Friars!

I'll vouch for him. It has been all over ESPN radio the past 2 days or so. Dan Patrick and Colin Cowherd were talking about it in their shows. Cowherd had a reporter from USA today on talking about it yesterday.
