ANNAPOLIS, Md. Maryland is the latest state to approve an apology for its role in the slave trade.

An apology approved by state lawmakers expressing "profound regret" that it once "trafficked in human flesh." Because it doesn't require the governor's signature, the vote by the House of Delegates makes the apology official.

Maryland follows Virginia in issuing a formal apology. Congress and lawmakers in Missouri and Georgia are also considering apologies

A check will do just fine.
"Anyone who sits around waiting to hit the lottery, whether basketball or real life, in order to better their position is a loser."
