hopefully he can resume his career next season but that was a nasty fall. it seems like this season has been mush for many teams in terms of injury.

Wow man, that sucks! I can't believe you could watch the lower part of his leg just hang because it basically became detached from the knee. That was nasty, I feel horrible for the guy, he was having a good year, along with the Raptors.

GEEZ, what's going on this year!! I can't remember another season with so many teams getting killed by injuries. Sure it happens but am I the only one who notices how many teams have been bitten by the injury bug this year?

At first I thought it was his knee but early reports say he broke his ankle. So I watched it again and it looked like he broke his ankle.

Garbajosa gave an interview for the Spanish media stating that the leg is not broken, his knee is fine, but his ankle is broken. He will have to have surgery on his ankle and he will definitely not play another NBA game this season no matter how far the Raps get in the playoffs. According to Garbajosa, he is hoping to recover sufficiently to play for Spain in the European Championship in September. However, he noted that the exact extent of the damage to his ankle is not known as there is a lot of swelling and inflamation in the area. He will most likely come back to Toronto and be operated here.

Luckily, Garbajosa is a savvy player and his game isn't based on a high level of athleticism. If he heals up nicely he should be fine. I don't think he should play in the Euro Championship.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

this is true. broken ankle is recoverable. torn up knee for a 29 year old would be tough.

I'll volunteer to console the hot Garbajosa fan that was sitting behind me at the first ultimateknicks get together.

I bet they wish they outbid the Knicks for Morris now, huh? Sucks for them, though, you don't wanna see stuff like that...
