he's been saying this for a while. he's also said the garden has never reached out to him. why else would he be helping houston's low-post game develop?

I rather see him on the scouting team. Patrick has a good eye for young talent. I noticed this during the KNicks summer league games. He always gave a very good description of rookies. He was one of the main reasons why the Knicks went after Allan Houston in 96. I don't know if Thomas' ego will allow him to do that because Patrick will be looming over Thomas as his constant replacement. I don't think Patrick was well used in Houston.

Actually Patrick was utilized very well in Houston he wanted a more fulfilling role though. There's a reason why Yao Ming is a monster now.

No he wasn't. Patrick has wanted to be in management capacity. I am not sure about his impact on Yao. A player who had professional experience when he came into the league. I am sure he help benefit Yao's game but I don't know to what degree. Keep in mind part of his duties in DC was to improve Kwame's game as well. I think he is better serve with player evaluation.

If he could teach our big men how to play defense, that would be a huge help. Really, IT needs to hire a defensive-minded assistance coach to devise a defensive scheme that will actually work with these players. Our defense is horrible and we probably need to implement a new scheme next year.

It's a cryin shame that Patrick Ewing isn't being utilized by this organization. Bring him back in some capacity, he should be an assistant for a year and help Eddy.

To be fair, it was Ewing's choice to go to DC with his pal Jordan and then go to Houston with his pal Van Gundy. The problem with Ewing is that he wants everyone on his schedule. The Knicks have always tried to please Ewing but sometimes Ewing is his worst enemy with that. Instead of sticking with Houston this year he wanted to follow GT basketball and his son. Thomas has constantly said that he has reached out to Ewing about returning to the organization. My guess is next year Ewing will be with the Knicks in some capacity.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Eddy doesn't love the game of basketball, this has been well documented.

He wanted to be a "TUMBLER" half time act until he out grew his tu tu outfit. This is why he's so nibble as a large man.

Curry is not what this team need , he just so happen to be what we have.

Pat and IT on same team???
Are you kidding me. This cannot last long.
Pat was running in circles aroung MSG when IT extension was on the line.
Now its over and he will go elsewhere.
And this is sad.

Pat should come back and be put to work as a scout/special assistant. Same job jabbar had when he was here. Pat should be assigned to pay special visits with curry the way mark aguirre does.

Frankly I want the knicks to lose herb and the rest of the old guys on the assistant staff. I like mark aguirre mind set plus I think the players can understand him and relate. I also love how he handled the group as the summer league coach.

Anyway, knicks need a real post legend not scrub ass herb Williams.

yea I forgot about the summer league games. he handled the team pretty well. I think we only lost 1 game in the summer league right? oh and how excited I was when the Knicks strength & conditioning coach told us that Frye put on "20 pounds of muscle". i mean that turned out well... man I can't believe I'm talking about summer league already..sigh

I remember hearing that whole 20lbs of muscle BS. That **** is impossible to do in only a few months. More like weeks right?

Anyway, the big fella should be allowed back.

Patrick would be a great fit to teach Eddie about the pressures of NY, the responsibilities of a star, work on Eddie's intensity level and help him with the double teams. Who better to teach a young big man about NY than a guy who has been in the exact same position before.

I also think that Patrick understands NY better than anyone in the organization. He understands that Midwest coddling doesn't work here and that you can't use excuses in this town. If you do you will get chewed up and spit out like they say. Patrick understands the concept of effort above all other circumstances in NY and we need guys like this to instill this type of thought in our young guys. The excuses must end. Who better than Patrick to teach this? The answer is noone.

I think Isiah would consider hiering him. Than he would undermine him and destroy his reputation shortly after.
I just hope that people will like me

I'm not so sure. I think Isiah would have to be afriad of Ewing and his influence with the fans. I don't hate Isiah like most here, but I would get rid of him for Ewing in a heartbeat only because of what Ewing meant to me as I watched him growing up.
