McRoberts Will Enter June's NBA Draft
22nd March, 2007 - 12:37 pm
Yahoo.com -

Josh McRoberts' sophomore season at Duke ended on a sour note. The star forward will not try to redeem himself next year.

McRoberts announced Thursday that he will forego his last two years of eligibility and enter June's NBA draft.

Duke's second-leading scorer and top rebounder, the 6-10 McRoberts emerged as one of the nation's top big men this season, leading the Blue Devils to a 22-11 record and an 8-8 mark in the ACC

Can't wait to see the overrated bum drop in the draft.

Hell, Shavlick went and got signed as a free agent. He proves himself worthy he is not bound by rookie contract.

Of course he should have stayed, but he is a big guy with pedigree and knows how to sit up straight in traffic.

Not saying he can't find a spot in the NBA, but he cost himself money.

Definately should have kept the door open.

So does a less athletic webber really describe him? Lol.

He is a flamboyant player. I just don't know where he is gonna play at the next level. He's not strong enough to play inside and he isn't fast enough to guard the wing.

Now with our doubts watch this jackass have a great career.

He's a good player and lottery bound.

Anyone who calls a 6-11 PF that can run the break, dribble, shoot, and bang in the paint a "overated bum" is just lookin for the hammer to get dropped on his misinformed ass.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

If you've watched the player play, you would realize he doesnt do any of the things you described except shoot. He was a McDonalds All-American but so are all Dukies. Get ready for Mike Dunleavy 2.0

I really don't get this decision.

Duke gets bounced out of the first round. People are questioning his ability left and right. He is still only a Sophomore and has a chance to redeem himself. Yet, he chooses to enter what could be one of the strongest drafts ever despite his stock being so low right now?

He almost declared as a high school player and he wouldve been a lottery pick at the time---his stock has fallen since then--he's had back surgery---he can still cash out now [10-20] and that is what he is doing. It's a good strategic move--what IF he hurts his back again next year or his play goes sour?

Personally, I think there would have been a better chance Duke would get past the first round next year than Josh getting injured with them. I really don't think his value could have gotten much lower with another year of school. Plus, with this draft having the potential to be so good, I don't think its a wise move to go now and not even leave the door open for a return.

The kid is a yr late(draft), this is how you think when all you want to do is drink and go to stripper parties at Duke.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
