If you had to pick one, who's most likely to have their number retired next?
Latrell Sprewell
Allan Houston
Antonio McDyess
Kurt Thomas
Frank Williams
Vujanic (he's almost here)
LJ / Longley
Lavor Postell

none of these guys

latrell - management didn't like him
allan - too soft, too much to live up to, if starks didn't get his # retired, allan won't
LJ - didn't want a ceremony even
Longley - are you kidding me?
Milos - not unless he leads us to the playoffs for 15 years in a row

and the same for everyone else

Yep. Unless you thought I was serious about Postell too.

And notice I started my question with "if you had to pick one". When you consider Ewing was the only retiree from his generation of Knicks, it's obvious the high standards it takes to get a number retired. So what I was really asking was "Who has the characteristics and talent to step up and be the next leader for the Knicks the way Ewing was?" If anyone, I figure Allan or Spree are closest, for whatever that's worth. The more likely scenario is your's, Case.
go knicks!

Mark Jackson has the best chance, after Ewing. I guess Chaney must be doing a decent job this season, because no one has mentioned that his job was on the line in the papers, or is it that cablevision gave him an extension that is keeping the media quiet? I figured Mark Jax would be the talk of the town to take over as coach of NY.
